To most people it can be boring, people don't like to be the protector, the one with the strategetic utility and most people really aren't committed to being a team player.
IMO back in season 4 and 5 people hated support so much that i ditched my top lane and started maining support to the point it became my one trick role.
I've even forgot about playing all mid laners and some top and junglers who i used to main alot years ago.
As for adc.... i hear the trashmen haven't taken me out yet... unless im playing twitch who is so easy to play because of his Q positioning.
As a support main I love playing champions that just refuse to die, can bail out allies and annoy the enemy team, I love taking 20+ tower shots for my allies, I love being that driving force/starting gun that leads my team to victory rather than just dancing on mid lane like a bunch of confused plebs.
I understand you guys get excited when you get fed in lane but keep in mind its very easy for the enemy team to shut you down with good team work on their side and this is something that all players keep forgetting all the time and they will just dive a mid lane tower only to feed about 3 shut down bounties to a enemy feeding mid laner which instantly flips the tables on us.
Our Job is to invest our money for utility, protection, crowd control, possibly burst.
But for you try harding supports going duo carrying lane more than a real support you need to keep in mind that you maybe a bursty character but can your champion still protect you're adc in this match up, this is more important in Draft mode where everyone sees who gets what champion.
Annie's tibbers burst combo can be useful to damage and block skillshot or single targeting champions.
Morgana's barrier which I hate to say it is very situational against ap and hard cc champions.
Brand's lane harass is great if you have a caitllyn, miss fortune for more bullying you can also put twitch and varus with brand if the player knows how to play them well. Brand is also great with Rylais against the enemy team that can have really poor mobility so if your jungler stole Lee Sin and the enemy has udyr then you have a better chance of melting the Udyr rather than melting a enemy lee sin.
I think all players should have the right to experiment any champion in support which does sound very risky and pretty silly but trust me some off meta combos do work, also it can throw the enemy team off and make them think you're playing a meta lane champion and this can cause the enemy to pick a champion that will get countered by your ally's top laner/mid laner.
