"its just a normal"

i hate hearing that. i don't care if it's just a normal. using it as an excuse for you doing bad is stupid. play your best and don't decide when we're down 2 kills to never do anything ever because it's "just a normal gg"

As someone who plays mostly ranked games, i now see normals as a nice game mode to just chill, not tryhard, but play around with new stuff and maybe even go something a bit trolly. To me no matter how well or bad i'm doing, it IS just normals, in normals all i care about is having fun, not winning or losing.

It always frustrates me when people flame on someone to much in ranked, but i can still understand it because they lose elo. But in normals? Why would you care if someone has a bad game? As long as it's not clearly intentional, odds are they just had a bad game. Why would anyone make a big deal about anything in normals, it's just a game for funzies.

If you hate hearing "its just a normal game" i got a solution for you, don't tell people how bad they are, don't rage at them, enjoy the game, try to make the best of it, and i promise you no one will say "It's just normals" ever again. Or you know, play ranked, probably won't hear it there.

oh, I have. I've heard it in ranked. Only then it's 'It's just a game!'

You know, I'd agree with them if they weren't using it as an excuse for doing poorly.

Even worse. One time I had a guy lock in Anivia jungle. My gut told me to dodge when he said he was going to troll, but I assumed that he was just picking a non-meta champion and that he was actually going to try. He took blue buff and stood in bot lane with my support and I, using his wall to try and get us killed. His response when we asked him why he'd do this in a ranked game 'That's why it's so funny, ranked is a whole new level of troll!'

Usually the "it's just a game" is followed by a "calm down" in ranked. Meaning some is raging and taking it WAY to seriously.

Problem lies where people will die once in lane, give up, and just keep dying in lane. Then say "lol it's just normals", implying that if they had actually wanted to win they could have, when in reality they are just trying to cover up the fact that they gave up 5 minutes into the game after they fed first blood.

cFlame1 votes

This. People just feel like giving up all the time and think it doesn't matter for if other people feel differently.

yep, probably not.

Queuing up into a game is a commitment. If you jump into a game just to give up or afk within 10 minutes than you shouldn't have queued up.

WukongMain9 votes

you mad bro?

its just normals.

JustMyBassCannon9 votes

On the one hand, it is just a normal game. You don't really suffer much of anything from losing it. Plus, you can get away with doing non-meta things in normal games if you know what you're doing. If someone is going to get their panties twisted because I went Hybrid Varus instead of full-AD, I'll tell them it's just a normal game.

On the other hand, people need to admit when they make mistakes that it was a mistake. If you make a mistake, and someone is reasonably asking why you did something you shouldn't have (or didn't do something you should have), own up to it. It's not the tense, competitive world of Ranked, but it's not like there's no competition either.

Ace Access 1 votes

sorry but you forgot there are people in normal who think their entitled to a win and act like its ranked

JustMyBassCannon8 votes

That's why I put up both sides of this, instead of just agreeing that one is right or wrong. Both sides can learn from each other, if people stop polarizing the argument and think for half a second.

TenSlashTen9 votes

Even someone like me who's played 80%+ ranked games in his entire time spent playing league has to take a break and relax every once in awhile.

Take a chill pill buddy. We're not all korean machines who shit wins.

Krigjer8 votes

I don't get MAD over normals. Hell, I don't really get mad over ranked, it's a video game that's meant to be fun. If I'm not having fun, I go do something else.

That said, I cannot stand people that just.. don't try. Because 'it's normals!'.

Or dive 1v5. 'lol that was soooo funny'

Gallowgrim8 votes

Or accept it's a game, some people play it to relax and have fun, and would play ranked if they wanted to hear your grouse.

libraryseraph 2 votes

I play normals to relax and have fun. Doesn't mean I don't want to win. I can still enjoy a game I end up losing, but i don't enjoy a game where someone is dragging us down bc they don't give a shit

Gallowgrim1 votes

I can respect that, but that does not excuse treating another human being poorly, or bringing the game down for everyone else by feeding a troll.

libraryseraph 1 votes

Oh yeah, I agree. I don't yell at people in game, as tempting as it is. I was just saying it's easier to relax and have fun in a fair game, even if we lose

When my teammate is just playing bad & constantly feeds:

In next game and I happen to queue with this guy again, only this time, we had the upper advantage. But then, I chose to feed enemy team cz:

Karlyr3 votes

There is a difference between intentional feeding and having a bad game and being raged at. Pretty sure your teammate wasn't intentionnally feeding and you were raging at him.

BeatzBoyFTW3 votes

Sure sure, it's all "GG 2 EZ" when victory, but then it's "juz normals" when losing. It still relates whether intentional feeding or not.

Karlyr2 votes

"GG 2 EZ" is banable. Intentionnal feeding is bannable. "Just a normal" is common sense.

I think people need to consider that... there are people out there... like me... who have been LOSING ALL DAY normals or not, 20 something fuqing losses in a row is bullshit and the last thing we wanna hear is "it's just normals" we dont have to treat it very seriously to feel that it's unfun

Karlyr7 votes

If you have been losing all day, get on tilt and not having fun. Then why are you even playing a game that you don't enjoy anymore. (And if the answer is "first win of the day" play a coop vs ai. seriously.)

Leti the Yeti1 votes

let's not bring up tilt, emotions have never hindered my performance I dont chat in combat, I'm not gonna let you die cuz I hate you, I'm not gonna throw my self into the enemy team while throwing a fit... im actually a pretty confident person infact it takes about ... 3 aces in a row for me to remember.. "oh yeah, I'm on a losing streak and rito wants me to fking lose just cuz my win rate's too high"

Karlyr1 votes

emotions have never hindered my performance

That's what you think.

  1. Download LoLReplay
  2. Play a match that "your emotions have never hindered your performance"
  3. Watch it the day after.
  4. Enjoy the jump back to reality.
  5. ?????
  6. Profit !

We all play this to have fun. If your ruining someone's game and respond with "it's just a normal" people are going to get pissed.

KnivingDude3 votes

people who say it's just Normals need to to just say it out loud in front of their monitor and not type it.

It discourages your team and makes you look like a whiner. No one likes a whiner. If you want to surrender say your points and launch it up.

HazelVicious3 votes

I do not mind if people want to have fun in normals (I don't play ranked yet at all). What I mind is when people don't TRY, since despite the fact that yes, it is a game and it's for fun, the point is still to win........not to lose on purpose or not try at all because it's only "normals". I just played a game with my fiance and had my lane partner (I support) afk for unknown reasons. Our Teemo (who d/c'd early game and we had to wait on) flamed allchat with "report Jinx" and in team chat told me it's just normals so why try. Yasuo would run right past me while I was being chased by two champions with high burst as Taric....I could've at least given us a chance to win the fight, but he didn't even try. Not fun. 4v5 is not an instaloss.

It's funny how people don't look at objectives and just base everything off the kill count for a surrender, had a team the other day who had 5 turrets and we had 1, and they surrendered at 20-16. People who say "It's just a game" or "It's normals bro sorry" are just immature kids trying to make an excuse for their terrible play because they don't have the balls to apologize. You see it a lot in this generation coming up (15-25 year olds), they have a sense of entitlement that rivals the very Mike Brown himself. It is really sad, and every single day people like Obama and Holder promote that entitlement even more so. Anyways people like that suck. It's really not an excuse to not try to win and whenever ANYONE says either of those phrases I instantly report for negative attitude or verbal abuse after game to try to get their chat muted ASAP because they deserve it.

Honestly, if you're going to make me sit there for 20 minutes refusing to ff, fuck yeah I'm going to go afk farm.

Meep Man1 votes

I only say something like this when I actually lose a lane and my teammate gets extremely mad. I mean, why are you getting mad? Every game is an experience to learn from, even losing ones. You aren't even losing anything as well since its normals as well. I understand everyone wants to win, but if you consider a loss a waste of time, you aren't improving at all.

Oh phew, thought this was a "play meta or reported" thread.
