Has anyone hit honor level 3 yet?

I understand that the climb is over the course of a whole season so gaining honor levels should be kinda slow. I understand that means people who play a limited amount may not even advance to level 3 by the end of the season.

But there are streamers who literally play this game as their job and play a huge number of matches compared to normal players so if they aren't toxic they should be climbing the honor rank much faster. At this point you'd think you would see at least one outlier of a non-toxic streamer who put in a ton of games mostly on a single account get honor level 3.

Also, typically any kind of level up system will give out the first reward much more quickly than subsequent rewards to get that little Pavlovian response started up. The whole Skinner box theory says people will respond best when they get an initial reward quickly that then tapers off slowly in random intervals. Honor 3 is the first possible reward from earning honors, then honor capsules as you level up further to 4 and 5. I figured since 3 was the first reward we would generally be seeing normal players start to hit it around now.

What if riot never actually added it to the game, and just said that they did. Give people an unobtainable carrot on a stick.

That "sona main" was a Rioter decoy.

I would be happy as that is the way I treat it now anyways. They lost me when they said fuck all veteran players by removing all honor and just starting everyone at level 2. Other companies wouldn't do that.... but Riot is great at it. I stopped caring awhile ago though and fully expect this on anything they implement. Would have been pumped about rune changes like 4 years ago.... now I am sad they changing them. Can't wait to laugh at my "compensation" for runes I bought in their old soon to be useless system.

Eh, as a veteran player i understand the feeling.

I'm mostly just sticking around to not give up my front row seat to this precarious tower they've built the game into.

Progress is time gated, like chests. You can play 1k games in a month, and most likely see similar gains to someone who played 50, for example. I know that the details are unclear(because it's a bullshit system), but there are dudes streaming who have already played more games and gotten more honors than 99% of us can reach in 12 months. They're still level 2.

I think of the honor system as a 'daily' or a phone game that advertises 'log in 100 consecutive days and get this!'. I'll continue doing 1 ARAM a day, and I will most likely hit honor 3 on the same day as the guy playing 24/7.

I can confirm, i'm pretty sure i've been honored over 100 times now and i'm still not levelled up to the most basic 1-step-up phase. Rito fix your broken shet or add a counter like for mastery points as to your progress

How many Baal runs until level 99? 3500 games.

Quepha4 votes

Yeah but i'm not talking about max honor level (5), I'm only talking about the very first reward to get our little dog brains thinking "Oh wow i got those honors and now I'm getting stuff, maybe I should continue to not be a prick in-game"

Oh god, I know this struggle all too well. xD

Hopefully they loosen up the honor cap. It'd be a shame to stay level 2 simply due to not grinding out enough games

Tormentula3 votes

I think I discovered big foot sooner.

Dirgen3 votes

Or even if we can see how much honor we need to get to the next level.

WinBoat3 votes

With the older honor system, you had to be honored over like 100 times or more it seemed like. So I doubt anyone is going to get level 3 honor soon.

Quepha7 votes

but the old honor system was scrapped with good reason and i thought that was one of them

LIQUOR1 votes

ummm i am honor level 3 and i am not playing much but i get like 1-2honor per match sometimes 0 so its kinda easy

Saga183 votes

I really don't know what they were thinking, if it's time gated that's just scummy.
If it requires an unholy amount of grind for ONE level, what was even the purpose of changing the damn original system which had flaws like that? I heard from someone that reports, ANY report severely diminishes honor progress which is a extremely dumb choice considering people here report you for winning your lane.

Grjjm Reaper3 votes

heard that too, best bet is to go support, and **LITERALLY **not say anything to anyone, not even own team mates.

Skorch2 votes

Thats who i usually honor when im not supporting so...

Thats the besk kind of support, though.

  1. Pick a mage, preferrably burst mage, but with CC none the less
  2. Steal your ADCs farm and kills while building full AP
  3. Keep everyone muted, including pings the whole time
  4. Always ping '?' When you don't go in with your adc (or whenever they die)

Am i doing it right, guys?

Honestly, If it's taking this long for any players to get level 3, then level 5 would be virtually impossible. (what?, would Riot give it to them on the very last day of the season?)

Quepha3 votes

At this rate it looks like level 5 is straight-up impossible, no "virtually" qualifier needed.

God Raijin5 votes

Especially considering that this system was implemented over half-way though the year, doesn't seem possible. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they haven't even done the programming for the loading screen banners etc yet but shipped the idea anyway

Infernape2 votes

The only people that have hit level 3 are those in OCE to the best of my knowledge. Because they've had the honour system a patch (two weeks) longer than everyone else, logically speaking, we should be seeing people in other regions hitting level 3 in around two weeks or so.

ForFoxSakes2 votes

Looked up those profiles.

Their match history shows them playing every single day from 5-20 games each day, on average is about 10.2 games a day which is a fucking lot for the most of us.

I havent heard from a RITO response but unless there's other evidence I'm convinced that the honor leveling is linear in that getting honored gets you X points, voting gets you Y points and when all those add up to enough then you level up, which is super wrong. Someone could be 100% positive and gets lots of votes their entire season, but if they didnt accumulate enough points because they can only play 1 game a day then they could not even rank up

IMO it should be based on consistency rather than volume

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Wait, people are upset that it's too hard to get a reward for not being a dick in game?

Quepha1 votes

I want the honor system to make people not be dicks in game. The honor system is supposed to do that by offering rewards. If those rewards are not realistically achievable, I know that people will become disillusioned with the system and mostly ignore it like the old one and the playerbase will not improve.

And keep in mind that, until yesterday, there was LITERALLY ZERO EVIDENCE that getting honor level 3 was even possible.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

Uh, it's supposed to do that by rewarding people w/ icons in the post-game screen. Repeated honor w/ eventually get swag rewards.

And if no-one has gotten to level 3 then it sounds like level 3 is really hard to get to. You need to receive consistent honor, and probably a lot of it (maybe from the whole team).

Having a huge splash screen to choose people to give honor is a huge push to get people to behave less like douches. A larger notification that you have received honor also helps out a lot to letting people know that their team appreciates them as a player.

Not really, i see plenty of games where members of the team opt to skip the whole screen meaning they either didn't think a single member of the team did anything honor-worthy or they stopped caring about the honor system.

Honor for its own sake is not enough. If it was then all Riot had to do was make the honor buttons on the old system bigger. I am certain they did not lightly come to the decision that players should get free components that lead to them getting skins, one of their biggest sources of income.

Tobias Brackner1 votes

People like celebrating other people's successes.

If people skip its because the whole team was being assholes or they are an asshole.

If they stopped caring about the Honor system then they will actually be more incentivized to pick one of the players on their team since that will be the fastest and most convenient way to get off of the screen.

Already seeing people hit the Level 3. Saw 2 others on facebook hit it. Looks like people are getting it randomly, even during champion select.

I get one or two a game. It's unusual for me to not get any.

And do you have evidence showing how many times you have received honor since the new honor system came out?

I take screenshots of every single post game and put them into a giant power point presentation so I can achieve the absolute approval of the LoL boards. lol

That aside, I got level 3 last night while streaming.

I hit Honor Level 3 a few hours ago! There's no real way to tell when you are gonna level up. Just rack up honors and don't be toxic really. Proof: https://prnt.sc/g1i9xb
