Anyone else think backdooring as a strategy is too strong?

I'm not sure how it is higher up, but I've rarely seen the backdoor strategy fail, whether it's me doing it or the enemy. And I'm not talking the 'We're losing teamfights so I'm going to afk push top lane as Ahri' type backdooring, I'm talking backdooring as a strategy from team select, where you pick something like Nasus/GP/Shen/Trynd top, Shaco/Udyr jg, any mid lane that excels at clearing waves and discouraging dives like Ziggs/Azir/Ori/Anivia/etc, and a safe bot lane with wave clear and more dive prevention like Ezreal/Cait/Corki adc with Soraka/Tahm/Bard/etc support then 3 man mid while top and jg massacre the outer lanes.

The word you are looking for is "splitpushing", not "backdooring".

That are two different things.

Alright, change all cases of 'backdooring' in this thread to 'splitpushing'.

Yeah there's a bunch more suited to it. Xin, Yi, Jax, Fiora, basically anyone that can either dumpster whoever they send to stop them or escape is prime for splitting.

I feel like backdooring is overrated. Once you do it a couple times you realize it's not all that different from other strategies. It just takes a lot of careful positioning, and you have to be super safe about it.

Wait...what are we talking about again?

The higher up you go, people get better at dealing with it. It leads to very boring gameplay for the defending player, but it's very fair and manageable. In terms of enforcing a team lead though... It probably has the highest success rate except when you have a strong teamfight team with the ability to dive towers (so like, something with a Maokai or a hyper tank initiator) or a very strong siege comp (something like Cait, Azir, and Janna getting super ahead). In terms of enforcing a solo lead, it's not as successful unless you somehow got a MASSIVE solo lead, which shouldn't happen and happens less frequently the higher up you go. If they do get a massive lead, well you're going to lose regardless of how they chose to play.

Higher up most of the time people are just going to force objectives in a 5v4 while you're splitpushing.
