In the PBE, you start it off as a free crit dispenser that Assassins could easily abuse. And then you changed it to an item that rewarded Crit/AA-based champions. And then you changed it into an item that made both players unhappy, because assassins don't typically build 60% crit, and ADC's would just buy a second Zeal item if they were striving for guaranteed crits. And just recently you buffed it for Assassins and Assassins alone, because only Assassins would make do with just a Stormrazor and a Statikk Shiv.

So what is it? Is it just officially an Assassin item, now?

It was supposed to be a marksman item, but they got the amazing idea to give a full damage crit on your next AA for nothing. Instead of making item 3147 melee only (so you don't get blown up by a MissFortune Quinn in one AA) since it's an assassin item (there aren't any ranged assassi, and make item 3095 ranged only. Fixed. But better give more and more and more damage to the game because this is how balance team is now

You dont get a full crit. Full crit is 200% damage, stormrazor only gives 160% without other crit items.

This, unfortunately, seems to be the most likely answer. Stormrazor has changed directions so completely, and so many times, despite being an item that has only existed for a few weeks, that it feels like Riot cared more about releasing some new item into the game, no matter what shape it took, rather than delivering some clear gameplay effect. The item is poorly conceived, poorly balanced, and extremely disruptive due to the upfront burst it's added to the game. It should never have been released in the first place when Riot realized their original direction didn't work, and at this point the best solution is still likely to just remove the item.

Riot's idea was instead of fucking the ardent censer meta into the ground, like they should have done ages, ago they wreck infinity edge, shit on essence reaver, and reduce the shield duration of champs who don't even go bot lane like Orianna, instead of fixing one goddamn fucking item. Stupid fucks, this is why I don't listen to threads that say "be nice to Riot if you want feedback", they'll only pretend to listen, and provide the illusion that being nice to them will get an actual reaction.

Remove this item and bring back old Esence Reaver, not needed to remove the current one, just make it so you cant buy both items like item 3748 item 3074

my opinion:

we do not want assassins to have any free first crit or any item active / passive that amounts to an extra damage spell (yes duskblade's damage proc should be removed), UNLESS they pay for it with an overall lower burst rotation (yes lich bane should have negative AP on it).
we do not want ADCs to have any such thing as a bursty first hit. because we want their damage to ramp up over time, rather than start strong and wane.

Both Jax and Trynd like to attack nonstop, having to do awkward pauses between attacks isnt their thing.

With the right champion and runes. A quick scan of Korean Mains and op.gg, shows that it has been shown in Diamond + play to be buildable on Darius, Jax, Jarvan, Garen, Yasuo, Graves, Corki (not really calling him a botlaner), and Master Yi.

By comparison, how many adcs have shown a benefit from the introduction of Stormrazor? Not that many. It's too pricey for an adc and not many adcs actually get pauses long enough to derive the benefit.

sure it'll be a decent item for the likes of jax and yi but why get that when you might aswell just get other items?

it's good on garen tho, cuz the spin and it's CD matchup.

jarvan AD build likes burst, yi can benefit of it as well.

Yasou.....not really sure tbh, he shouldnt wana delay IE so much.

Graves like burst much as jarvan, corki is stranger still though as i though Triforce was a core item.

Having both would be expensive.

Darius.....i honestly dont see this work except in a few situations, should not be good generally.

As for marksmen and stormrazor.....i think they were Tristana Jinx MissFortune Jhin Quinn Caitlyn Draven Twitch and Sivir

All these either have the delay, the range or the speed to get uses out of the pause.

That leaves out KogMaw Ashe Varus Lucian Ezreal Kaisa Vayne

So roughly half the marksmen are using it? Seems to work as riot intended but it failed to archive any change in build diversity......not that many held any hope for that.

The idea of this item is actually really good on marksmen that don't build crit. The first shot bonus is also considered an on hit effect, so any champion that has abilities that make use of on hit effects will and are good with it. MF Q specifically applies the on hit passive to both parts of the Q which is really nice. I've also built this as a 3rd/4th item on Kai'sa and it feels good. My problem is the build path. I wish they would figure it out. I really don't like the two longsword idea, seems not well thought out to me.

If this is a PBE complaint thread please back up your whining with all the numbers. They haven't touched Stormrazor once on live since it was brought into the game as far as I am aware.
