If Maw and Sterak's need to be unique, then so do PBE Death's dance and Phantom dancer

This is absurd if they're going to be stackable

A glass cannon having too sources of multiplicative damage reduction from items is insanely broken

you're talking about 1-.7*88 = 38.4 damage reduction before resists

DD's doesn't have damage reduction though.

Converting the 15 percent damage into a DoT still means you're taking the damage, but the characters building it have ways to actually survive the damage and recover the health they otherwise would have lost before the dot kills them. Health regen also helps offset the dot to a very small extent.

Popular characters to build Death's Dance on: Illaoi, Graves, Riven. The latter utilizes it amazingly because she can shield so often, thus taking practically 15 percent reduced damage without consequence of the DoT while building glass cannon.

Plus it's on a lifesteal item, so that allows for that DoT to be more easily healed through than burst.

with lifesteal it practically is damage reduction.

I agree!

It's funny that Graves went from item 3156item 3053 to item 3715 item 3046 and sometimes item 3812 lol

You always want DD on graves with PD, It's devastating and just it's just so funny how you dangerous you become after getting those 2 items.

The buff to DD is probably gonna fix that

So THATS why they buffed item 3812 it all makes sense now

While I agree that Double Dancer combo is abusive, its not quite the same thing as Lifeline between steraks and Maw. xD

Expect it would only be 12% damage reduction against a Single target and only 30% damage conversion into damage over time in 3 seconds. So lets say a person with PD passive on has 1000 damage it gets reduced to 880 damage then 30% of that damage is converted into Damage over time which is 264 over 3 seconds converted into damage over 3 seconds or 88 damage per second. With 616 direct damage dealt. Meaning even with the buff the damage reduction is basically equivalent to 12% more health against a single target and 30% of all damage is converted into damage over time. effectively against that single target of 88% damage dealt 30% of that will be converted into Damage over time which is 26.4% of your total damage would be converted into Damage over time.

Impressive.

it does however as you just pointed out cut burst by about 40%

And DD does give you the ability to sustain through the dot

As do shields which help negate said damage and other forms of healing

Basically the item makes you die 30% slower giving you more time to counter the damage through shields heals lifesteal and shit like athene heals censer heals and stoneborn pact heals

Shit will get really funny if you stack a knightsvow on top

I already use DD on tanks/juggernauts who can make use of the AD You tack on a Titanic hydra to heal for about 5% hp per basic attack while the damage conversion keeps you alive long enough to amke use of that healing

It's pretty strong

Even if Phantom Dancer was against all enemies simultaneously and Death's Dance just straight-up ignored damage rather than convert it into DoT, 38.4% dr before resists isn't strong at all. That's less than 67 of each resistance, so assuming a good build on the opponent that reduces your actual resists to 0, you would retain the equivalent of <67 of each resist.

% damage reduction in general shouldn't stack IMO. If you add Skirmisher's Saber on top of that shit you get a free win in every duel.

throw in item 3047

KoggyStyle1 votes

also they should remove the sustain from maw, a spirit visage makes them so damn tankie.

Could name the passive "Walk it off."

They both have Dance in their names, maybe "Dancing shoes."

Or maybe "Dancing Blades."

We just need a nice themed name for the passives so they dont stack when someone builds both. Deaths Dance is considerably more expensive, so I say its the default passive when you have both.

wait... they DO stack?
