Let your jungler tax

Visigoth··25 votes·1,883 views

I just ganked a DrMundo fighting a Vayne top, got her flash and heal, and still got the kill (all Mundo did was throw one cleaver which happened to last hit her for the first blood). He proceeded to flame me in chat for taking two minions.

Don't mind me, just giving you a free first blood and burning your lane oppenent's summs.

Fuck laners.

Yeah idk what some people are thinking. I'm ok with a tax on m lane if I get the kill, sure.

But not when the jungler takes the kill and then takes EVERYTHING.

jungler comes into lane, makes me burn summoners, takes a secure kill after i die and then pushes the lane 3/4 in front of the enemy turret

"omg, i ganked why are you losing lane?"

it goes both ways buddy. there are shitty selfish junglers aswell.

That's not what my example implied Though. There are many situations that can happen.

You got the kill? Stay away from my farm. I got the kill? Take a wave.

It's a simple concept.

Rammus : Comes to lane several times, taxes me while just watching the enemy laner, not even attempting to gank. Nasus : Rammus pls leave lane pings Fall Back ping several times Rammus : Doesn't respond Nasus : No taxation without representation. Rammus : Ok. Rammus : Returns 4 minutes later to tax me again True story.

Their are only two times I tax,

  1. when the minions will die to tower anyway.

  2. I want the enemy tower.

good job pushing up the lane so vayne can freeze at her turret and bully a melee in lane good fucking job jungler

If there's no enemy laner due to killing them or simply forcing them to leave I'll either give a wave or two to my jungler by backing outside of experience range (if we can't take the tower in one push) or clear farm as fast as I can if they are just backing, so they get the experience anyway. People really need to calm down and help their team members.

I've seen both sides of this: I had a Lee Sin, literally come to lane and take farm I had frozen at the tower. When I inquired as to why he'd do that, his response was "You need to push the lane or I can't gank"... needless to say he didn't do much good that game.

Opposite end: I disengage give them the kill, and I assist in pushing the tower so we can both base and buy - flamed by laner for "hitting CS and making him lose control of the lane" - Makes no sense, which is what it sounds like the OP experienced.

hell ill throw a q on Ahri Lissandra Xerath just to damage the wave so the JG can take it easier

I get mad at junglers for taking the exp. I really don't care about the gold early game cus levels are way better early than items. Well unless u like can get a bf sword at 3 mins then that's kinda op.

Honestly, I have like 3 different sets for how much tax I take as a jungler:

  1. If you are a prick, and bitched and moaned all game, I don't feel bad taking an entire cannon wave from ya.
  2. If you are nice, I might only take 1, or hell, sometimes I don't even take tax if I get an assist or kill.
  3. If you are not speaking/I have no idea how nice/mean you are, I take 3 casters.

But Ihave one more:

If I take some minions, for one of my first ganks, and you spam ping me, bitch, I will molest your minions next time I gank

That last little bit was not necessary, but I totally understand the feeling. Some days I just want to bear slap my laners back to base and then take their lane, but at least I don't all of the days.

I don't like it when junglers mindlessly lane tax for no reason other than feeding themselves more gold. If you want to help push the lane to reset the wave/deny cs after a gank then please go ahead though. You get to tax lane and actually help out your laner at the same time.

CubedJustice1 votes

Well, it costs junglers farm to gank, especially if they don't get the kill. Jungling is all about efficiency.

I had a xerath mid afk in base because I cleared a wave (pushing it under tower) after he died and the enemy zed backed. Taric Outrageous.

There is tax, then there is shoving the lane. What you did there was taxing: taking 2 minions isn't going to hardshove the lane. It might break the freeze, but it won't hardshove. Taking 2 whole waves, however, just shoves the minions to the enemy tower, and NOW the enemy jungler might attempt to freeze under his turret.

Hi jungle main, We don't need minion tax. It is helpful but stop acting like a laner is a bitch for not sharing. If you get them a kill take 1 or 2 minions they were going to miss anyway and get the hell out.

Can't tax then don't gank, No need to get pissy.

Boom problem solved.

I should let a Yi come top and Q a minion wave and not do anything about the lane opponent, got it.

Sinister Snail1 votes

Yeah, I'm not going to get perfect cs anyway, have a few melee minions.

Actually, if you'd like to get last hits under tower while I've gone b, that would actually be very helpful to both of us, thank you. Please don't shove the wave, though.

In my shitty ELO taxing a lane means: 1- taking cs when i'm not there only for the enemy laner to have an easy time farming under turret because the jungler has no idea how to push and deny cs. 2- leaching XP without actually doing anything at all, they just stand in my lane after a failed shitty gank doing nothing but taking my XP when they could get more from their own jungle instead. 3- failing a shitty gank only to push the enemy laner a bit back and then either smite or last hit my canon minion, it gets really frustrating with jungler that have high single target damage spells which makes it easier for them to steal it. At lower levels it can cripple my laning, especially if i'm having a hard time. 4- pushing a lane=/= taxing a lane. Wanna help me push? Be my guest. Most of you junglers have no idea how to actually push and just end up making my life harder(look at point 1 for refference) 5- wasting them summoners earns you some tax, but not the entire wave or even the next one after that. You made them flash, good job take 3 minions and get the fuck out of my lane. Then come again for the kill and the free turret.

There are 2 sides to a coin, and I could spend the whole day complaining like a bitch, but since neither of us have legit knowledge of the game( your match history proves my point completely) you should just keep doing your thing and play the game.

Ideally jungle should only tax if the lane is slow pushing itself. That's when there are more friendly minions than enemy minions which means enemy minions die faster (the farm)... then the enemy would get a big minion wave. Push that into the enemy turret as soon as possible.

In the opposite situation, the enemy wave is bigger, it's very nice of a jungler to just last hit and/ or maybe trim the enemy minions so they don't crash into your allied turret before the laner returns. In this situation letting allied minions die to enemy minions is often an easier way to deny than pushing through a huge wave all the way through to enemy turret.

Sometimes I see low elo junglers tax a lane in ways that could royally fuck over laners. Like they push the lane but not all the way into the enemy turret.

UPfreely1 votes

honestly unless their jungler was up there too you guys should push lane in unless you got a good freeze going

I jungle quite a bit, but I guess I'm a bit different about the "minion tax". If I get at least a flash I might take 1-2 minions depending on where I am and where the wave is. Often I'll just return to the jungle as I figure the laner has the lane where they want it.

If we get a kill, I'll often wipe out the minions to push the current wave into the tower so my laner can back, but if I get pinged to leave I will. I just will be much slower to return as I know that there is little/nothing for me in coming to the lane beyond the kill/assist gold and I tend to get 3 assists for every kill since I play tank junglers who don't do a lot of damage.

I guess I'm one of the more unusual junglers. I don't insist on collecting a tax, although offering me some will encourage me to return. I'm as greedy as any other player, I just tend to be accommodating to my teammates when I can be.
