251 mana pool and 70 mana cost of Alpha Strike at lvl 1, isnt this kinda insane? Theres no champion in LoL that goes oom after 3 Q uses.. And after hitting 6, you need around 200 mana (ult+q) to even engage. Can we lower the cost of this spell? It does no damage and has insane cd along with mana cost.

I think after the rework many people realized his kit revolves around the intelligent use of the Alpha cd. When they implemented the new design, it became super easy to poke and return to a minion.
He already gains a ton of AD and AS on spamming auto attacks which clears fast. If he was able to spam Alpha Strike it would just be completely oppressive to any laner that can't farm.
Verxint1 votesAlpha strike is , you know, a really good ability, and considering he has 2 ways to reduce the CD, it has to be gated by something.
If it was spammable early game it would be really hard to stop Yi from farming.
You're also ignoring the fact that in the 18 second CD, Yi regenerates 26 mana from his base regen. With that in consideration, he has almost 6 casts before he runs oom, and by then he should be level 2 which gives a bit more mana and higher regen.
