Ornn passive strikes me as hypocritical

So you're telling me that a support having localized auras, most of them niche in function (armor, MR in locket aura, lifesteal aura) was unhealthy, because it's not interactive and is invisible power, but Ornn giving every ally free stats catered specifically to what they need every time (because their stats are based on what they bought), and it's global and permanent, and all he needs to do is let the game go on naturally, is fine?

Seems a bit two faced doesn't it? Auras had more counterplay and weren't always appropriate for the team comp, with the exception of locket. Ornn's passive is never bad.

If Ornn is fine then auras shouldn't be a problem anymore.

ORN passive before level 13 (almost before 21-22 minutes in the game if hes support) is only a shop . he cant do anything to save his ADC from adc assassins like Zed/Talon/Rengar/etc ... meanwhile lulu and lux and janna and etc have a huge shield and point click CCs and insta disengages for protecting their ADC. really Orn support is not overpowered at all.

A big difference between the auras and Ornn’s items is visibility and clarity. Yes, they are always on, and they are global, but you can tab into the scoreboard and see if they have the item and know “ok, they have these stats.”

In the case of auras, while you can do the same to see if they have an aura giving item, and you could, for some, see who was affected by it, you can’t see what the range is. So there’s an element of “am I in the aura or not, is my target in their aura or not?” Yes, there is a sort of counter in trying to keep the target and the aura giver separate, but unless you have a way of zoning them off of each other or displacing one, then it’s fruitless, especially depending on the actual range of the aura. A lot of the auras had a decent enough range that it would be hard to get a target out. Either that, or the aura range isn’t that big and so isn’t as effective.

Kha’zix experiences similar but reverse troubles with his isolation..either it’s too easy to counter it because of the range required to be isolated, or the isolation range was so small that he had too easy of a time.

auras are a problem when they're braindead without any actual decision, riot made players think that they're in general bad because they can't balance them

ornn passive is dumb period

Except aura's are largely persistent and limited by area. Ornn's is more like an upgrade to a given item that makes said item better.
