Her E can be negated by simply hiding behind minions because it can't go through them. Even if there isn't minions to hide behind, it's imo easier to dodge than say Blitz and Thresh's hook anyway, given its enhanced telegraph and shorter range.

That said, when you do get caught, you can run out of its range and fall back to somewhere safe. When the tentacles come out, dodge it, and then DO NOT move far away from the tentacles and DO NOT kill it because if you do more tentacles will keep spawning; you wait the debuff out while standing next to the tentacles at somewhere safe after it's done its first attack, and THEN you kill it.

E is fine really, what's a bigger pain in the ass is her R, which forces you to withdraw or you will get 2 shotted regardless how tough you think you are, which escaping is sometimes not as easy because of many factors at play.

There are so many ridiculous things about illaoi its hard to even start a conversation about it.

if you look at matchup.gg there are only 4 champions that tend to come out ahead in lane against illaoi. They are aatrox, swain, gangplank, and heimerdinger. Obviously, we can question the metrics of matchup.gg but assuming they are at least somewhat logical in their approach, I think this says a lot about illaoi. Illaoi is quite literally a champion that sucks the fun out of the game for anyone laning against her as you end up playing the entire laning phase knowing you can't really come out ahead.

Realistically, her E doesn't do any damage to you. It's what she does to your spirit that hurts. Plus she can't do 100% of your HP by killing the spirit. Learn to move.
