Why are two people still in their placements not allowed to duo?
There's a slight possibility that this smurf I'm on has gold mmr and my friend has bronze but until that's in stone why are we not allowed to duo?
Is there a time limit on duos?

I hate you and all your duo kind. Dirtbags like you guys are responsible for a good portion of losses lots of us players accrue each season. You aren't as good as you think you are and you jack up the other team's MMR. Get out of ranked. If you like each other so much, play norms duo or get married.

I duo'd in my placements last season. It might be the MMR thing.
It's so you don't get carried in your placements.
You can't duo with someone with a certain more amount of mmr. Its like that so they don't carry you against weaker players.
duoing during provisionals is based on last season's ranks. if you are gold last season and he is bronze, you cant duo.
You need to read more, you missed the part where I said, "you guys are responsible for a good portion of losses lots of us players accrue each season." That is quite different than me saying "All my losses are because of duos." Reading is fundaMENTAL.
The rank you got last season still applies in provisionals
