He could collect gears, crystals, or something like that. Either with each minion/champion kill or over time or both. Then he could purchase his ability upgrades that include an increase in AP with them rather than an item.

Well obviously I'm not asking that it give as much AP as now. But to be fair, it's not even gold efficient until level 12.

Viktor is already strong. Doing this would allow him to build hex core alongside other items without delaying them at all.
Even if it was slower to complete, that means he can get a full extra item by the time he completes his hex core.
FatedSaviour1 votesfun fact, if you are in urf, viktor can have a single item give him 300 ap top this off with a rabbadons for a total of 420 ap plus the 35% making a total of 567 ap from 2 items alone (the 35% of rab includes the 120 from rab, right?)
