Could we get an objective that mages are actually good at taking(somewhere in the future)?

Right now when it comes to objective game mages are only good for range waveclear. For towers and monster objective they lack free DPS and/or tanking power. While important, it lacks the thrill of Herald or Dragon, or stealing buffs.

Such objective could have form of swarm of smaller monsters instead of single big one, so that AOE abilities are effective against it.

I think it would be cool both for mages, and for their enemies, because it would make them to take some more risks.

Yes its not enough that mages are the best class at defending towers.

No, There is a reason they are bad at taking buffs and objectives. It's so we don't all just play one role in the game because that role can do everything.

We need tanks to tank objectives and teamfights, mages for the aoe damage, waveclear or untility and Adcs for the single target sustained dmg and quick objective taking. The support keeps the adc alive early and helps later with utility and the jungler/top laner (depending on where the tank is) adds an extra person to one of those categories.

Mages already have enough to worry about mid anyways. Between farming and keeping lane pushed, warding their lane and jungle, invading the enemy jungler, ganking for top and bot, helping jungler with rift herald or dragon there really isn't a lot of time to do an extra camp on top of it.

You do realize that each champion class is supposed to work IN TANDEM with the other, right? Mages provide the wave clear, DPSers provide the...DPS

Why would mages have tanking power when there's a role called "tank" that does that? Mages have their place in securing objectives via being able to burst the jungler or such. They waveclear minions into tower and do decent aa damage with the AP aa changes (and the 500g consumable you can buy to do true damage on aa).

So here's the thing: you want stronger towers, mages are going to largely suck at taking them. You want mages to be good at taking towers? Well then you need weaker towers. So which one do you want?
