hecarim seriously needs a buff with this new jungle

Hecarim is now in the bottom Tier of champs in league of legends. That is NOT a place he belongs as a fairly risky pick (very susceptible to counter junglers and blue dependent) and a high skill cap champion (especially with his easily dodged ultimate[the fear part] and flashing from his e).

Any of the following would serve him well (in order of preference):

  • increase more than just ad with his passive (also increase armour, or ap) (helps his game overall and fits with his theme)
  • increase the fear duration on his ultimate (almost all other cc ultimates are easier to hit, have longer cc duration, and are on similar or lower cooldowns. Hecarim's ultimate should instill fear in the players as it does on their champions).
  • add a passive movement speed bonus on his e (indirectly increasing ad as well), which scales with rank (e.g. 2% +0.5% per rank).
  • make healing on his w from his damage do 50% extra healing than from allies damage (stops healing from going out of control in teamfights, but helps him with jungle clears early).
  • reduce cooldown on his w when only jungle creeps are damaged by it, by 1 second per second.
  • give him bonus movement speed for a few seconds after using his ultimate
  • reduce the base cooldown on his ultimate (it's a powerful ultimate though, so I don't like this a lot)
  • reduce his mama costs (although I think managing his mana is an integral part of his skillset, hence why it's my last option).

I think any of these would at least make hecarim viable again. He can survive the new jungle, but is just really not on the level of most other options right now.

I suggest that his E should be brought to todays' standards. 24s cooldown for 3 duration? Not even a full bonus but a ramp up starting at only 25%?

Just compare itto Udyr who can run at increased speed all day long and stun the whole team in extremely low intervals again and again while being MUCHbeing more bulky.

Honestly I think his e isn't that bad.

Its duration is actually 4 seconds (it stays at max speed after it ramps up), its cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds per rank, and with 40% CDR you can basically charge 42% of the time - which makes hecarim fairly mobile and fits his kit well.

Although I think the auto attack reset on it is silly, What's the point when it's almost always your initiation? They should remove the AA reset and increase the damage buy an AA (I.e. By 100% ad) so that you actually get the full use out of it.

I do agree that the 25% at the start is too low though, it should probably start at 50.

He's doing pretty good, I thought.

He still has sustain and they even added two tank items capable of granting him movement speed.

Well, Tier lists have him placed lower than he was before the new jungle. I've still had great games on him so perhaps the lists are just wrong, but then again those games were against olaf, volibear, etc... I.e. Other incredibly low Tier junglers. When compared to someone like vi, who clears faster, with more life, has a wall jumping ability non ultimate, has a targeted knockup on her ultimate, etc... It seems she's incredibly easier to play and even if you play hecarim well despite him being harder to play vi will perform better. Same goes for any other upper Tier jungler, their extra offense and their kit just do more.

I think he was hit hardest by the blue buff duration decrease of all junglers. Hecarim always needed blue early. Like you could survive without it but he was only any good with it (unless you sunk gold in to mana pots). I now buy mana pots on him every game. It's bad enough that I take the second blue, but now there's a longer period where I need a mana pot between first and second blue, and another mana pot after second blue runs out typically.

He also really doesn't have sustain. I heard the PBE is removing the 15% missing health and mana buff from Rangers trailblazer. That was his sustain. He needed that mana to function without blue buff (now I'll be changing 1 mana pot twice to 3+ mana pots 3+ times) and his w doesn't heal for nearly as much as Rangers does until the point where even the adc can clear the jungle without pots. You simply waste too much gold on pots with him, and on top of that his clear speed isn't anything special early so the time spent basing for more pots puts him behind.

As a "tanky" jungler if his w sustain was able to keep him healthy enough to gank at level 3 without basing that would make sense - but he can't and shouldn't do that as hecarim has never been an early game ganker. Since the whole purpose of the changes was to make high damage low tankiness junglers not be able to clear the jungle at high health versus tanky junglers having that safety, it just seems hecarim completely missed the boat.

Which isn't at all to say he can't perform. I still clear the early jungle, it's just a really dangerous game early where if anyone sneaks in the jungle I'm dead, which as a "tanky sustain jungler" I should be safer from that relative to the offensive junglers which just isn't the case.
