PLEASE HELP! My teams keep on throwing!

First off, I am not a good player. I am Bronze 4 (although I really believe I deserve to be Bronze 1 or 2, will get to that in a second). My win loss ratio is 117-132 with an average KDA of 4/5/14 (tank Shen/J4 main, don't go for kills much. In fact, I will finish games at top lane 0/0/18 sometimes).

Anyway, my team has thrown at least 25 times this season. Not even exaggerating. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there were more. Knock off 25 losses and put them in the wins column and you have me in Silver, if not Bronze 1 or 2.

Main question: HOW DO YOU STOP YOUR TEAM FROM THROWING?

Honestly, I'm out of ideas. Teammates just don't listen. Look at my last J4 Ranked game. 14/6/22. Destroyed Cho'Gath at top, we had a lead for most of the game. Then my team thought our lead was insurmountable and decides to continuously get caught out despite me constantly typing, "Please stop getting caught out and group." Pretty much the entire late game, all our Tahm Kench did was farm the jungle. Yes, the support. Lee and Warwick were pretty much doing the same, only a little bit less. Despite me telling them to group, they refused. Tahm even facechecked an unwarded bush near dragon and was instantly 5v1ed despite me telling him to fall back and group.

And that's the average Bronze match. The team that gets the lead doesn't want to make use of it. They think it is insurmountable and run around the map getting caught out 32,000 times before the enemy finally catches up. I watched my friend's gold match. As soon as they picked up a lead, they were all mid, they were pushing, and the other team could do nothing about it. His team was tower diving and still winning fights. Translate that to Bronze. The team just picked up a lead, and then they start running laps around the map. The support is being very useful by killing gromp while there is a 4v5 at mid.

How do you stop this from happening?

For me, it's a dilemma.

  1. **Talk softly, ping, hope team will listen. ** This rarely works. Talking in lower case letters and pinging fall back simply won't get it done. In the J4 game, I pinged "Fall Back" on the Tahm Kench at least 40 times in the final 10 minutes of the game. He wouldn't listen. Neither would Warwick and Lee who were farming the jungle. Typing "group please" in lower case letters didn't work. They didn't even respond. They just kept farming the jungle. Talking softly usually results in a throw.

PROS: Won't get banned or CRed from Tribunal CONS: Usually results in defeat

  1. **SCREAM, YELL, AND PISS YOUR TEAM OFF BUT GET THE WIN **This usually gives us the win, but I don't like it. Because I am not a toxic player, and I don't want to act toxic. The few times I have used this is when I am getting close to promos, or any other "must-win" games. This usually will result in a win because I get everyone's attention, but gets me reported and moves me closer to my first ever Tribunal punishment (never been CRed or banned).

PROS: Usually wins games CONS: Players will report me, I will get in Tribunal Trouble. And getting 25 more wins but getting banned is not worth it.

So, guys, #1, #2 or do you have any other advice on how to stop team from throwing?

I'd also like to add that with the school year rolling around for students, I am hoping I can actually climb. Because there are so many trolls and toxic players when school is out for students. In fact, I rarely get trolls during the school season (maybe I'm just lucky).

When school is in, I am 50-40. When in summer, I am 67-92 (ouch).

ALSO, PLEASE NO "HAHA UR BRONZE" TROLL POSTS. I think I made it clear enough in the introduction paragraph that I am not a very good player.

learn to 1v5

My advice is start playing the carry roles. I mean, not always, but top lane isn't very influential until midgame or if somebody picks a huge lead. eg. Riven/Renekton

12/2/10 as J4 when we had destroyed their inhibitor. I was 4-1-3 in lane against Cho. That's a huge lead, right? Well I can't 1v5 then, especially not after Tahm Kench roams the jungle for the last 20 minutes feeding them. J4 is definitely a carry.

you really can't stop your team from throwing unless you are really ahead or your team is really ahead, and by that, I mean so ahead that your team can win 3v5 fights or break even if needed. if your team can win 4v5, that's not bad and that can be thrown, but it's harder. if your team needs 5v5 to win, throws will be able to happen fairly easily with one person getting caught and then everyone joining the fight late trying to help or something else.

you can give very clear instructions, but it's up to your team if they listen. you could try to hard carry (this doesn't mean 1v5, it means you do a lot of work to put yourself and your team ahead and stay ahead).

We were "really ahead". So ahead that my team thought the lead was insurmountable. So they roam the map, Tahm Kench gets caught in the jungle (THE SUPPORT) and dies so many times and let's them back in the game.

I think "group mid, stop getting caught out" is very clear. How hard can it be? Right click your character to mid. Nah, TahmKench is just gonna go farm gromp 70 times and get caught out 5v1.

I'm gonna be honest here. I BELIEVE RIOT NEEDS TO RANKED RESTRICT THOSE WHO REFUSE TO COOPERATE WITH THE TEAM. No I do not mean you should be banned for not grouping mid. But it's one thing to not group and do something else useful like split pushing. But if you go get Gromp as the support... you really should be ranked restricted for not cooperating with the team.

You don't stop your team from throwing, you just have to be good enough to make up for their mistakes.

Hard to do so when your team doesn't communicate or cooperate for the last 20 minutes of the game and does nothing but roam the map and get caught out.
