It's funny because Jax is supposed to theoretically counter champions like Fiora, Vayne, and Yasuo

But he loses to all of them

Well, they had quotation marks for reason buddy.

Everyone loses against Vayne. She is the assassin, duelist, adc, invisible no counterplay champ. Jax counters the old fiora not the new one. And there is no way Yasuo can 1v1 Jax. He has to dash away from his stun but a good Jax wouldnt fight Yasuo near minions.

Jax cant even lane vs Yasuo lol.

Unless ur a god like me and hook her while she's invisible.

I still question why they buffed Fiora.

Shadòw6 votes

since when is Jax a counter to Vayne and Fiora ?

Fioras W and Vaynes E are good against him.

FalconPawwwwnch17 votes

I said theoretically

Shadòw2 votes

yes.. theoretically they both counter Jax

Sahn Uzal11 votes

Jax can cancel his E early, and should be the dominant one when it comes to sustained fights. Jax has a point and click gapcloser, hard CC and the ability to dodge AA's. How does he not theoretically counter them?

Shadòw2 votes

Fiora has a W that can cancel his stun and her strength are also duels and sustained fights. in this duel it's pretty much all about who lands his stun.

Also Vayne can E him off her, timed right, she can even stop his jump. when he stuns her it's over for her tho.

But Jax isn't and never was supposed to counter this 2 Champs.

Jet Sett5 votes

Jax was supposed to counter ADC's, hence his dodge and gap close. Vayne being the exception even though she shouldn't be.

Sahn Uzal2 votes

''A champion can't counter Fiora because she can W their stun''

Every champion has an auto attack. Does that mean every auto champion hard counters Gangplank? You can deny his barrel with just one AA.

Shadòw1 votes

Jax vs Fiora is all about who times his stun right in an even fight.

Can you tell me why Jax is supposed to counter Fiora? Both are good in sustained fights and Duels, no one counters anybody in that matchup but whatever.

Sahn Uzal3 votes

I'm talking to a deafman's ears.

TheHypeGoku6 votes

I main Jax and I've yet to lose a lane to Yasuo/Fiora. If I do it's because I got lazy and didn't stay focused lol And Vayne isn't really the problem for Jax. It's having to get by the support also when you have no other tank because everyone wants to play squishy assassins -.-

EDIT: People talking about dash away when Jax uses E. But if I'm lvl 6 I just hit a minion twice and jump on Yasuo. Chunk half his health with ult proc + W. Then if you're in a good position use ghost (yes ghost, dash around that yasuo muahahaha) and E him and kill him. Don't talk Jax if you don't play Jax son... And Fiora's riposte is easy to play around as Jax.

Champion Skin1 votes

And Fiora's riposte is easy to play around as Jax.

I am not a very good jax but hey at least when I play him I play against a Fiora who is also bad (kept using riposte too early and getting hit by the stun allowing me to just keep the full duration of Jax E)

TheHypeGoku1 votes

Yep. If uses too early, hold it longer. If uses too late, use it as a stun for a free trade and walk away ;]

48983507DEL11 votes

Just a question, what summoners do you run in that matchup? I know Ghost, but is it Flash/Ghost? TP/Ghost? Exaust/Ghost? Ignite/Ghost?

TheHypeGoku1 votes

It honestly doesn't matter whether you bring flash or ghost. As long as you have TP, you should be good. The most important thing is knowing how to abuse your R proc. It's about keepng the number in your head. I tend to just AA twice and jump on enemy Fiora. If she stays I get the 3rd proc AA and then I can W for AA reset. By that time Fiora should have been chunked and you can either walk away and be glad with an easy trade won or continue on. Usually what I do is early on I'll play aggressor with my E while her riposte is up to see how Fiora plays. Some Fiora's will wait to riposte at the end of your E, some will do it early. They're usually pretty consistent in how they do it. For example, if Fiora uses riposte early, just E then walk around to the side of her while she's immobilized and then riposte will go down and you can stun her. If she uses it late, then you can try and use your stun to get off a quick combo and walk away.

paperbIade4 votes

they need to buff jax since the fervor of battle change

MunchCrunchLunch3 votes

because jax is a ball of stat champion that has to have little to no outplay potential just like every melee carry/bruiser in league.

thats why am banking on a rework to make him more of a caster than has some mobility and outplay potential in trade to more counterplay to him in a 1v1.

FalconPawwwwnch9 votes

This is completely false, and both morello and xypherous have agreed with me

Tons of champs can outplay jax in lane, he's entirely reliant on his E to trade. He has noticeable windows where he's stronger and weaker

This isn't old Jax where he had passive hp and dodge who actually had no windows to engage

MunchCrunchLunch3 votes

just like i said. he can't outplay people that much . probably never. especially in team fights. he relies on outstating people and outdueling thats all he can do

i got a quarter milion points on jax i'd like to hope i know what am talking about

jax is kept weak early game because hes strong late game. still sucks in team fights like every sinngle melee damage delaer

ShaolinToilet2 votes

I think it depends on the team fight. Some fights Jax can dominate while others he just gets shut down.

Erractic Eick1 votes

It makes sense, though. He is a hypercarry, and teams either shut down the hypercarry, or they die.

takeZOOOOOO1 votes

Might be hard to approach people but when you do the 3 clicks are gonna eat your health bar

CriticalTroll3 votes

I really don't understand how an Yasuo or a Fiora can beat a Jax in lane. If the players are equal in skill neither Fiora nor Yasuo will win lane. Now i don't play much Yasuo but i play alot of Fiora and i acctually have a hard time against Jax. Some of you people here aren't probably aware of the fact that Jax can cast his E and release it whenever he wants, he doesn't need to wait the 2 seconds so unless the Fiora is a god of predictions she won't riposte shit. In a straight 1v1 Jax out damages Fiora unless the she hits 2 millions vitals (and even then she might still lose) but at that point the Jax is boosted for allowing her to do so. Just my 2 cents dude.

planters2 votes

Your arguement assumes both players are bad. Im not going to act like Im some diamond god or anything but if you look at it, jax has about 3 seconds of maximum advantage over fiora if he hits his E and blocks damage for the entire duration. this is jax's advantage. fiora has a cripple mechanic attached to her W which means even if she does not get the perfect reposte she still slows your AS by 50% just for hitting you with it. Her vitals have innate healing and %hp true damage. THis does not include her low CD dash at max ranks. As for ults Jax's ult gives him the third hit magic damage while fiora's gives her an increase in true damage and healing. From a kit perspective fiora has more tools to win.

Furthermore, because fiora has %hp true damage you really cannot itemize against her well except to get sterak's gauge and GA. On the flipside since Jax does magic damage you can adjust your build with qss or hexdrinker. In fact, if both get a qss to deal with the other's cc fiora comes out ahead because qss gives MR and she does almost no magic damage. If both get hexdrinker, both get a damage increase, but fiora will also get more healing through her kit. The end result is that, assuming both players are equal in skill, fiora's chances of winning are just straight higher if she plays right or itemizes well.

tbf, these advantages are hard to take advantage of in the early game, but if nothing this notes that fiora out scales jax hard into the late game.

The Blue Rajah1 votes

You can't assume that the riposte will land either. If jax dodges it entirely that's a big difference since attack speed is so important for him. In my experience, it's pretty much entirely a skill matchup. Who gets the stun, does jax block a lot with counter strike, does she land her riposte. It's not a clear cut advantage for either of them. They're both strong duelists.

planters1 votes

my point wasnt that it was an auto win for fiora but that fiora has more outplay potential than jax does such that the barrier for success is much higher for jax than fiora. That's from what I know.

TheHypeGoku1 votes

I main Jax. 3 seasons in, he beats Fiora. Don't speak about a champion you don't know.

yingwhy3 votes

My biggest problem with jax is how expensive his items are. He basically needs hextech gunblade and guinsoo's rageblade, but they are some of the most expensive items in the game. It's not like those items are terribly strong or anything.

Weiner the Pooh7 votes

You misspelled tri force

Erractic Eick1 votes

This is a big issue for me, too. My average total build cost for a champion is somewhere around 18k, but for Jax, it's over 21k, with the first item being over 3000 gold. I can't really lane that easy without the items, though, so I have no choice.

However, I feel it's a fair trade for having some of the highest damage output in the game.

grug3 votes

jax isnt a very good laner, he's a high volume skirmisher and thats why hes jg most of the time.

Jax will beat the shit out of mordekaiser though huehue

Blåbæret2 votes

Jax DEFINITELY, does NOT need any buffs.

Dengeden2 votes

Yasuo loses to every fighter.

Fiora vs Jax depends on if she guesses correctly when he'll use his stun.

Jax used Counterstrike! Vayne used Condemn! Regardless of which season this is, it's super effective!

takeZOOOOOO1 votes

Jax does counter yasuo but most jax players are too hasty and die early because yas is stronger earlier damage wise, it's heavily dependent on both the yas and jax players

TheHypeGoku1 votes

As a Jax main, I'm grateful to see someone who understands the matchup. People like to post their opinion on champs they don't know lol

SpecterVonBaren1 votes

Ah, I miss when I'd use his E just before a Fiora ult and ignore all of its damage.
