Rengar can jump on minions and neutral monsters to get close to you if you didn't know. I doubt that having an ivern on his team with him is gonna make him incredibly OP. Also, rengar is squishy and jumping into the middle of the enemy team to take out a squishy is going to get him killed.

If you're a fed Rengar, this is basically giving you a free flash engage that nobody expected. Additionally, if Ivern is there Rengar also gets a free shield and slow on the enemy,

Not really relevant, but Rengar trading himself for the enemy ADC is a plus for his team. He may even get some damage off on some other people before he dies.
