Can you Survive the Jungle?

It's simple. Open a custom game with a friend or two to simulate a leash. If the champion you picked can't survive the jungle without dying or backing, then either they aren't a viable pick for the position of Jungler, or you need to adjust runes and masteries until you find a set that works.

Don't test it in normal games, wasting someone else's time while you find the 1000 ways not to make a lightbulb.

But if you have a full team of friends who are okay with your pick, go ahead. Just as long as you aren't doing it to strangers.

Edit: Someone brought up the point that if you set your runes to clear that could prevent you from ganking early. Be that as it may, so does death. If you can't survive the camps, you definitely won't have the HP to attempt a gank--regardless of the damage runes you're using. You're already trading off either ganking ability or sustain in order to play your off-meta pick. Making sure you don't die 10 times in the first 10 minutes takes priority over getting your team 2 kills.
