Global Presence is not easy to abuse

Champions with global presence have always been nerfed because it's too strong of an ability to have on top of Teleport---for the highest tier of players. But it's only easy to abuse for very high rank or professional players-- who either communicate more than the other 95% of players or don't need to. Then those champions have very low win and pick rates across the rest of the players because their global gimmick can't be abused by everyone.

Global champs should not be nerfed into the ground just because LCS abuses that mechanic. It makes them a detriment to use for the rest of us.

Tbh it really isn't. Globals tend to be so heavily telegraphed that you can play around them. They also tend to be on relatively low mobility champs outside the global skill itself.

Now if someone like say...shaco or hecarim had one they would be a nightmare. And yes there is Rek but she has a huge audio cue and you can potentialy limit its usefullness with good warding by team and agressive tunnel hunting.

I was saying it isn't. So there's no reason that they should nerf those champions just because the top tier players abuse it. The rest of us can't, because it requires professional levels of communication and map awareness to get your team to use it correctly.

There's a thread on the front page asking if Shen's nerfs will be reverted after Worlds for the exact same reason. You're agreeing with me, I just wasn't clear enough on the OP.

They don't really even abuse anything. All the global users have a clear draw back that enemies can exploit. I mean it wasn't like pre nerf shen is doing ungodly damage. He is an amzazing utility tank, I mean he could have no damage and a terribad lane phase and it probably won't change how he plays/builds. All it will do is make him more annoying to play as.

Even GP ult is fine imo...its his damn overloaded barrel that riot refuses to look at that makes him so damn strong.

GP's ultimate isn't too bad. The barrels are a strength that can't be built against... but they're the same issue as %HP true damage. So Riot's not going to be fixing them any time soon.

And yeah, they're not fantastic, but champions with two teleports are always picked in professional tournaments just for the extra vision and/or presence. But Riot balances champions based on top-tier play--- where communication levels are drastically different from the rest of the players. No one has the same five-men-side-by-side setup as they do in pro matches. It's the same reason no one picks Nasus in pros when he's overpowered in solo-- they can communicate against him.

So they shouldn't be "balancing" every other ability of a global presence champion just because their global ability is an issue.

Yup. At the end of the day I wish riot would just say" you know what? Those non LCS players just aren't playing the same game as pros."

Even as much as a bronze to gold can see drastic changes in game that cause them to play differently.

<- Bronze and often abuses Taliyah's global presence, recognized that she was busted even when she had only a 40-something % win rate because of the strong global presence. Not hard to ping that you're incoming, and in fact ultimates like Rek'Sai's, Twisted Fate's, and Tahm Kench's do it for you.

A single player can use a global presence ability. It's no different from taking teleport on everyone. The 40% winrate is a perfectly good example of how it's not possible to abuse in bronze to gold.

It requires the entire team to focus on making use of your presence to get a win out of such an ability.

Before her recent changes, I played a lot of Taliyah and abused her ultimate well. Every time I used it, I got either flashes (for them to get over the wall) or kills for my team. Literally all you have to do to effectively use this is press alt, click, and move your mouse to the "On my way" ping a few times before you send it in and then wait for your allies to engage, then follow up engage with it. Shen I'll admit it more difficult to use effectively because he requires a target. Map awareness alone often isn't enough for a Shen to be able to use his ultimate, it requires more communication than that. However, Shen and maybe Rek'Sai to an extent are the only champions with global presence that have to have communication to be played at maximum effectiveness. Taliyah, Twisted Fate, Sion, Nocturne, and a ton of others can be used to great effect without any further communication than the "On my way" ping. I know because I've used all of these champions properly with only the On My Way ping. To say that you can't use these champions without a call is very false because it's beyond easy to do so, in most cases. GP isn't the easiest one to use, but I have been messed up in a lane fight by a GP ultimate so many times it's ridiculous. And remember, I'm bronze 2. Having the map awareness to use these abilities properly isn't a difficult thing at all. Now, also remember that Twisted Fate was once one of the most broken champions in the game. The teleport was on his E rather than his ultimate and his ultimate was a global reveal and slow that made his E instant cast. Oh, and Gold Card did more damage, was AoE, and the stun lasted 1.5 seconds on a 3 second base cooldown at max rank. And his passive gave his entire team free crit chance.
