Can Mages carry a game?

So I have wondered this for a while. A lot of top laners/assassins/adcs can for the most part carry, as long as their team isn't too braindead anyway. So I main Syndra. Literally almost every game. I get like 10/0 kind of fed, more or less good cs. But i can NEVER for the life of me carry with her. I can delete maybe two people (my mid laner and the adc) But then i get jumped on and deleted. This frustrates the hell out of me because i just cant seem to win with a mage. Which is why I have been starting to play carry capable roles. What is your opinion on this? Am i just bad or were mages built to be more utilitiy and less carry?

I'll answer you by telling you which champions can carry games. That are counted as Mages [In my eyes.] Annie Azir Corki Ekko Fizz Kassadin Ziggs These champions all have something in common that lets them carry harder then other mages, if you can't figure it out, tough luck friend ;)

Corki is not a mage -_- he is an adc. Also, fizz is not a mage, he is an assassin. Annie can get locked down easily, ekko is understandable, kassadin i can also see carrying, but ziggs i cant see carrying just for how fast he can be deleted.

Hey Buddy, your bronze is showing. Let me just tell you that just because Youdon't think someone is a mage i'll agree, but whatever, Either way, the reason I say Annie could carry games is due to her team fight potential, mixed with Tibbers being able to tank turrets for her team, while sanctimoniously using TIbbers to take a turret. Ekko shreds turrets along with Kassadin, and yes you are right, Ziggs can get deleted, but he could just as quickly carry games, He's just not played too often currently.

I love how quickly someone resorts to "you are bronze " insults. It is truthfully petty and I don't really care for ranked either way so i guess i will forever be bronze. I literally pointed out the flaw in your statement as you named two non-mages. If their primary doesn't say mage, then they aren't true mages. Just common sense dude. My whole point was if a team is full of braindead people can a mage still have a carry potential like Akali Vayne Tryndamere . Due to the many responses I have been given proper insight, but don't simply accuse someone of being wrong just because they are bronze. Kind of a rude move honestly. And it is players like you that make me dislike ranked. Simply put, if you use bronze as an insult, you aren't any better than the toxic 12 year old feeders in soloq.

Your taking it personal, don't take it personal, I never said you were wrong. I just said I count those champions as mages as well. If you say you don't consider a champ something by account of Primary, then that makes Darius, and Garen only fighters, not tanks. But regardless, I was telling you the mages I say could carry games.

Its mostly about DPS. With mages you kinda use one spell rotation to kill a single target, except for Azir.

Mages, especially Syndra (I main her too) can carry hard. Late game, your job is not to delete people, its to keep waves pushing, and interrupt and stun the enemy team so that the rest of your team can get their shots in and finish up for you. In team fights, focus on using your stun (build tons of CDR so you are able to spam this).

Mages are very reliant on being able to position, comboing properly, and staying alive to melt people.

Kill wise wouldn't factor into carrying a game if your someone like Lux just jacking kills away from more important people on your team.

Mages in my opinion carry more from utility and dps more than any other lane. Unlike ADC's who lay down raw damage, most mages have something built into their kit that can completely alter a fight whether it be a stun, shield, etc while laying down nearly identical damage numbers as an adc in magic damage.

The issue might be the fact that you're playing like an assassin. It's the same for any mage, you need to choose your moments to kill people wisely, you shouldn't just be diving their team just to kill the ADC.

play azir, u are pretty much a one man army who can easily solo carry with ur useless teammates being meatshieds for u, if u are good at him to a certain level.

(which 99% of players can never achieve)

Mages are probably the easiest to carry with IMO

You might not have the highest DPS on a mage but your range lets you be basically the only person who can do stuff before a team-fight is initiated, and as long as you dont get caught you're also likely the most consistent DPS in a fight because DPS-type champs are easily zoned out.

If they have some form of devastating AoE, they can carry hard.

Mages can carry, but so much of Syndra's damage is in her single target ultimate, so perhaps it makes it hard for her specifically to carry. You can take down the most important enemy, but without decent teammates it won't do enough.

Lots of other mages (especially more sustained damage, or AOE mages) can definitely carry though.

They could before the glorious season 6. Now everybody rushes items that specially counters ap, just because those items are extremely affordable to get. Even if the opposing team only has one mage, ten minutes into the game, every single person will have 1-3MR items on top of Boots of Swiftness.
