Theory Crafting: The Turret Destroyer's Guide

I've been testing this out A LOT, and the results are both obvious and not so obvious. I've always wished that in those games that I felt slipped out of control I could just sell my items then go solo all the other teams turrets, no minions necessary. Well, turns out that is very possible.

First off, it is extremely obvious that a farmed Nasus IS the ultimate turret destroyer. Now that that has been said, lets continue the thread.

Next thing, this guide will show you how I 1v1 inner turrets from 100-0 with or without minion waves. You will be a BOSS at getting objectives. Your movespeed will be very high, other champions will not be able to catch you unless they have some sort of movement speed buff, even then its questionable. I would only safely do this on several champions. Now then, to the guide.

Master Yi is no longer the turret wrecker he used to be. Surprising, right? But since his base attack speed was nerfed he doesn't benefit as much from attack speed as other melee AD champions. He doesn't gain nearly as much attack speed per level compared to other melee AD champions. Lastly, he no longer gains bonus AD from activating his E. All in all, his turret wrecking is no longer even in the top 5 imo.

Key things in being able to wreck a turret: Armor penetration does not effect turrets. 40% of your AP is used to kill turrets. Aside from those 2 factors, there are 3 things that will effect how hard you wreck a turret, Attack Speed, Attack Damage, some Champion Abilities

Yes, some abilities work on turrets, such as Nasus's Q, but lets ignore that for now.

It does not matter if you can wreck a turret or not if you are going to die doing it. For that reason, I am not including anyone that cannot split push safely. This includes Xin Zhao and several others, who have no/poor escapes. Also, due to the fact attack damage and attack speed are what factors in to killing turrets, only champions with attack damage/attack speed steroids or both will be included. Because you are hit for more and more damage the longer you in the turrets range, it is absolutely necessary for you to melt the damn thing asap.

First, I will say the champions. Then, I will show which items are absolutely key to this.

Now then, without further ado, the champions that I would use to destroy turrets, with or without a minion wave, in order:

Tryndamere Tryndamere. Very damn effective. Has an attack damage buff, his great base attack speed, his ability to escape through the use of his spin, and his ability to ult and stay alive for those extra seconds. He is the god of turret destruction. He may not be the quickest, but he can do it earlier than any other champion in the game.

Udyr Udyr. Holy crap, this guy. Bear stance allows him to run like hell, no one will be able to catch him. Turtle stance for extra survivability against the turret, Tiger Stance and his Passive for extreme attack speed steroid (100%) He takes the cake.

Trundle Trundle. Movement speed, 80% attack speed steroid, the Pillar of "you can't touch this" This troll is a boss and just ahead of this next guy, just because his attack speed steroid has a shorter CD.

Olaf Olaf. This man has the highest base attack speed, so benefits better from attack speed % items than most. This, in addition to his attack speed steroid and passive, make him damn quick at wrecking turrets. Not to mention the fact he can slow anyone that tries to chase him down after he destroys it and can break any CC he is put under with his ult.

Jax Jax. He rounds out the list of the top 5 turret destroyers. Him, Trundle, and Olaf can all switch places as they are interchangeable, Udyr and Tryndamere are undoubtedly the top 2 though. He has the escapes, he has the steroids, he has the defense provided by his ultimate, he has it all. Only issue is his shitty base attack speed, which is a measly .638.

Nocturne Nocturne. I put him on this list because he has both an attack damage steroid and an attack speed steroid in addition to a spell shield and additional movement speed from his trail. He can also get the job done damn well.

Honorable Mention: Shaco Shaco. I haven't tested him, he would be damn great with his ult though. I would love to try it.

Now then: The build.

This may be the dumbest ass build ever, but shit may get nerfed because of it. I made it with 2 things in mind: Great sustain/wave clear, extreme attack speed, solid amount of AD, and great movement speed. You need wave clear to push lanes. You want all lanes to be pushed at all times. You do not want to face tank a turret unless you have to, you want to be full health when you approach the turret, and you want your attack speed to be capped out and have a solid amount of AD to back it up. I won a game with this build on Master Yi, a champion that didn't even make the list, that lasted an hour long. A game in which I destroyed 7 turrets and backdoored my way to victory. A game where the opponent could not push into my base out of fear I'd backdoor. With a strong, well-coordinated team I strongly believe that this tactic would work.

item 3074 item 3172 item 3172 item 3056

These 4 items are your way to victory. Yes, the movement speed does stack. You will outrun every champion in the game with this. No boots, boots do not help you kill dragons, barons, or turrets. Zephyr is the ultimate turret destroyer. The fact they have tenacity on them is only a bonus. You will be running fast and you will be hitting extremely damn quickly. Note that every champion with the exception of Nocturne and Tryndamere listed above has an 80% attack speed steroid. 180% attack speed. Minion waves no longer exist. At the point that you have this build, if you are pushing with a minion wave YOU OUTPUSH THE WHOLE OTHER ENEMY TEAM COMBINED!!!! You do not want to have a base race against an Udyr with a +100% attack speed steroid with 2 Zephyrs. Its over. You have to stop him. And once he gets Ohmwrecker, he can kill the turret without the damn minions. Get more Zephyrs. Tryndamere doesn't need Ohmwrecker, but it does help in that it gives him another 2 seconds of invincibility.

After you build 4 Zephyrs, you will have +40% movement speed, 40% CDR, 200% attack speed.

I am not saying that this is the new OP, I am not even saying this is viable. You are 100% useless in teamfights with this build. But my god you sure as hell push turrets down like nobody's business. It is funny how scared the enemy team is when they play against this build. At first people say "Report him! He is troll", next thing you know I have 7 turrets kills and got all the inhibs. That is an average game. Ward the hell out of the map, and backdoor. The game turns into a 4v4 because the enemy will start having 1 person at their base AT ALL TIMES. When they realize that doesn't work, they will start trying to gank and kill you. You cannot be caught though, so long as you aren't reckless in your pushing. One of your teammates gets caught out of position and the enemy team jumps on your team!?!?!? AWESOME!!! You just took a few towers and their inhib.

splitpushing is not always viable.

Agreed. "I am not saying that this is the new OP, I am not even saying this is viable. You are 100% useless in teamfights with this build." Not only are you useless, the tactic may not even work with your current situation.
