What's the best build path now that Guinsoo's Rageblade exists?

Do you still play him top or jungle?

item 3074 item 3124 item 3143 item 3065 item 3812 item 3111

order of which you build stuff depends on how the match is going. but that's how your build should be.

if you're going jungle which is far more safer for him you can go

item 3074 item 3124 item 1419 item 3143 item 3065 item 3111

anyone who gives you a heres 6 items for every situation if talking out their ass but ill put the rules for an aatrox build as fast as i can. first off core things. 1: item 3153 this should be simple and doesn't need explaining. 2.item 3065 healing bruiser and increases healing. also increases healing from ur passive alot of people dont know this and i have no idea why they dont. I wont really mention these 2 items again so just always get them... same for boots.

Choices for boots: Generic item 3047 vs alot of auto attackers (adc meta) or item 3111 if lots of cc. Normaly if they are both go mercs because less time cced means more time healing which can out do the damage due to his kit. also if they are pure auto attacks but with cc also go merks for the same reason.

3 following types of aatrox. Burst Assassin: For this your generally want to goitem 3812 because the 15% of ad healed. think of it like 15% lifesteal and 15% spellvamp in one... because it is. this with spirit also give you 20% cdr which if your goal is BURST (i.e. eqr wproc dead adc) is never a bad thing. another item to go with it be item 3074 (not item 3748 because you wont have the health to support it if your going burst) strengths and weaknesses of burst. Strength snowballs the hardest. Weakness most useless build when behind. Strength high quick impact (much like an Sejuani ult) weakness if you fuck up your combo your generally do very little since you wont be much of a front line.

Play style: much simlar to Rengar

2nd playstyle: pure tank. pretty simple go for pure tank expect a item 3153 also armor and mr become more valuable then health. a lot of people think if you go health its better. no it is not. much like having pure armor and no health is also terrible. the reason armor and mr become better is because you have an inflated health pool due to your passive which is 105 - 870 (based on level) health (why people think this is a percentage i dont know) and your w. which heals a flat amount. you arnt no Darius with that percentage bullshit smashes keyboard Shouts: "STUPID FUCKING PERCENTAGE HEALING BULLSHIT"

strengths and weaknesses Snowballs the least. More useful when behind compared to assassin or bruiser. Very hard to get 1 v 1 kills due to lack of damage (you should win most trades... you just dont have that MUFF to finish them off before they run normally)

also very hard to be 1v1ed you ever played vs a mundo? started winning the fight and then he presses r and just walks away like "MUNDO DONT GIVE NO FUCKS MUNDO IGNORE YOU!" regening like 500 a second. its simlar to that.

Playstyle: Similar to DrMundo Garen Illaoi

3rd and most common pick: Bruiser

Pretty generic. 2 damage items. 2 magic resist items. 2 armor items. choices for attack items item 3091 item 3812 item 3074 item 3147 item 3156 item 3022 quick warning never go item 3124 yes it looks good on aatrox because "herp de derp 2 hits instead of 3" but he doesn't benefits enough from the stats for the price and if your going tank your w damage/healing wont have enough impact to justify. if your going damage your relying on the qerw dead and your w should be ready before the fight. As for bruisers its simlar to buying a item 3094 on Alistar its like... yes alistar has autos... attack speed means he can do more auto damage... so does crit... but alistar isn't about that... pretty simlar for aatrox he doesn't rely on his procs like a Jax or Irelia and he also doesn't have the hybrid stats for it. one more item to warn. never go item 3053 he doesn't have any whole ad ratios only bonus ad ones... so the passive proc thing is kind of useless on him... also sheilds arnt that good on aatrox more resistance is generally better with a good health pool.

as for armor. item 3068 damage. item 3143 vs crit item 3742 vs helpcasters/noncriters dont go item 3025 or item 3075

and magic resist. item 3102 vs pick off spells (blitz pull im sure you know this sort of stuff) item 3156 can save your ass a few times but generaly not recommended unless your laning vs an ap. item 3190 is really good if your support doesnt buy it.

oh and if someone is reading this they are properly thinking item 3026 is good... lets be real if they kill you... kill you a 2nd time... they are just waiting to kill you a 3rd your just wasting 5 seconds of their time but ALOT of your gold. hope this helps

The best way to play Aatrox is to play Xin Zhao because xin does everything aatrox does but better.

I play him in the jungle mostly, but he can surprisingly be good mid with his huge burst at level 2-3. Anyhow, the build...

Jungle item: item 1416 or item 1400 . Haven't tested Bloodrazor on him yet. Devourer used to be great, but now it's gone. Warrior's should be fine until buffs.

Offense: item 3812 item 3156 item 3072 item 3074 are all good items on him, but I wouldn't take more than 1 unless you're fed. Death's Dance is my favorite rush item, and is great by itself.

Defense: item 3742 item 3065 against AD and AP, respectively. If the enemy team is stacked with one type of damage you can always pick up item 3143 or item 3102 .

Other: Mostly for their utility. item 3053 vs burst (don't stack it with Maw), item 3022 for chase, item 3026 for defense and to troll the bastards. Make sure you have a lot of HP before buying GA.

Boots: item 3111 usually, for CC, but item 3047 if fed ADC/Yi/etc.

There is no set build path. I typically go t1 jungle item > t1 boots > t2 jungle item > first big offensive item > t2 boots, then decide how the game is usually going from there. If fed, I might grab another offensive item, but usually the rest of my build is composed of defensive/utility items.

It all depends on how the match goes. You have to build in reaction to the game. You might be fed but start getting focused down, and have to stop building your 2nd offense and immediately grab defense. Sometimes, even though SV is great, you might still want BV against Annie or Blitz. You might really want Maw, but take Mercurial against a good Amumu. Sometimes you gotta settle for nothing but a QSS or a Hex instead of completing the item. Sometimes you can be decently fed, but the entire enemy team is AD, and it would be extremely efficient to build triple-armor rather than offense. It all depends on how the game goes, and it's your ability to react to it that decides your build's quality.
