How to counter late game Yasuo?

datfatguy··8 votes·11,091 views

No salt here, but I saw a 0/5 Yasuo end up going completely crazy once he reached 2 items and got a penta-kill. Any tips on how to counter him in the late game? Because that seems to be the part where he just goes full BS mode.

Ban him or afk. These are 2 ways you will never die to a Yasuo. Ive seen 0-8 Yasuos 1v5 penta before. He is a no skill champ and way too easy to play. His shield makes it just plain dumb to lane against.

the fact that people are upvoting this guy makes me question the ignorance of the boards

Hardest/most skillful thing about Yasuo's kit is his ridiculous windwall. Every thing else is retardproof

Ruin Lance1 votes

retard proof, like ulting at stupid times, q'ing in the wrong direction and dashing under tower/into a bad spot? or, for example, wind-walling an ezreal ultimate only to get elise cocooned from the other direction?

a lot of yasuo's high skill cap comes from knowing your limits and having good decision-making and his abilities enforce that very well.

i think you're purposely ignoring these kinds of things because you know that you have other people to back you up on this circlejerk.

You're a Plat 1 Yasuo Main talking about how Yasuo takes skill because you can throw your only skill shot in the wrong direction. That must be proof that Yasuo takes more skill then any other champion in League who has a skill shot. xD On a more serious note than your statement that makes no sense. All champion's skill caps, with the examples you used; ulting at the wrong time, skills shots in the wrong direction, are the difference between a good and a bad player for every champion in the game. Not just Yasuo. As for your example of having an Ezreal in front of you, and an Elise behind you; at least Yasuo doesn't take damage from Ezreal's Ult, unlike every other champ. On top of that, it's your own fault if you're that far out of position anyways that you're caught completely unaware by multiple people, which again, is an issue for any champion in League who is out of position, not just Yasuo. I'm actually fine with all the abilities Yas has, the annoying parts are his passives. Basically gives him a Malphite shield, and his Passive Crit. With 1.5 items, he has the item efficiency that ADCs are waiting for 3 items to get. So when every champ in the game is still on one item in the early game, it's as if Yasuo has already reached the mid game with 3 items.

I think the thing that tilts people the most about Yasuo Players is how Yasuo Mains come to forums to flame people in a comment section who aren't even hating on Yasuo. The OP had a completely legitimate question and you're flaming everyone in the comment section because you're trying to prove something that is completely irrelevant to the original question. You need to learn to accept that Yasuo only takes as much skill as any other champion in the game. He just gets the advantage of being extremely gold efficient. Please, stop being THAT toxic Yasuo main. If you're so good at Yasuo, then give the OP a legitimate answer to their question. If you're not going to contribute something relevant, then go back to the Yasuo Main Forums and spend your time kissing ass over there instead.

Have a nice day! :)

Wise words! you get my upvote!

I don't think you understand what flame is, a lot of yasuo mains are toxic, that's a fact but a lot of cry-babies are actually worse. I see so many people bitching about yasuo and how he's a no skill champ when they've never even played him and are just salty from getting butt-fucked by actually SKILLED yasuo players :)

Sykitron3 votes

as I have played yasuo before, it's pretty easy, and from how your talking I guess you main him? I almost maimed him but I noticed he is just too easy to play, his e makes you think like a god, his shield makes you think you dodged everything, his life steal makes you think that you actually did something rather than just e auto q q ult and poof they are gone.

a filthy yasuo main in his natural habitat

Ruin Lance2 votes

a low elo yasuo hater in his natural habitat :^)

PanHeadLuka1 votes

Like, did you come up with that on your own? You've really nothing else to say other than that? Maybe when you get a brain cell you can try Yasuo out and see how much of a skill he takes :)

Sykitron2 votes

Dude yasuo doesn't need skill, your just happy he is overpowered no offence but you may not even be good its just that broken champion, and there is proof all over the world, I mean an e which can literally get you across the map ? A q every what 2 secs ? A shield made out of wind ??????????????? Like I said, just an op champ.

PanHeadLuka1 votes

Damn someone is salty from getting a katana shoved up their ass lol

Sykitron2 votes

Well I'm not salty because I died from him once, I said that because from the first time me ever playing yasuo in a normal game I got a penta-kill that's why I said that.

Yasuo is hard to master. Those yasuo who gotten anpenta with 0/8 score are just lucky

Stay away from minions. Yasuo's entire strategy is that if he can't out DPS his opponent with through AA's then he needs to out maneuver/kite them. This is why he falls prey very easily to damage focused champions who can chase him down. Late game you just have to CC lock him and prevent him from Eing around. This can typically be accomplished by forcing him to E to a frontline character then CC locking him down so he can't use that character for mobility while keeping the rest of your team out of range of his E which effectively leaves him as a sitting duck.

If you memorize his E range then as long as you monitor that alot of champions can beat him. Alot of this comes down to fundamental kiting mechanics.

Treat him like a Katarina. If you don't know where he is, don't put yourselves in a position where he can rock up out of Fog of War and clean up an easy penta. Don't waste CC. Especially don't waste reliable CC or CC than can't be Windwalled.

Yasuo has to build an early lead or he's worthless.

Yasuo preys on bad target selection and position.

He is extremely weak in a teamfight, and seige.

Ward, stick together, and blow him up instantly when he overstep.

At my low elo people try to duel him and constantly let him get 1v1s, which is playing to his strength.

Keep on mind of he does manage to ult, he is a sitting duck for 2s.

Yasuo is not extremely weak in team fights. He is easily the best melee carry in team fights. He's actually one of the weakest duelists in the class though.

Hard CC + Burst

This 100% ( works the same for yi), be aware of him even when you are fighting other enemies, at least have a couple teammates on board w/ the plan that when he tries to jump in you and the other teammates immediately turn and focus him.

If i am playing yasuo or yi and see an enemy team comp where every member or 4 of the members have hard CC I cringe b/c i know its gonna be a rough game and im gonna have to play super safe (which, especially late is a total waste of yasuo/yi) because they have so much to lock me down with, unless they mindlessly use their abilities off cooldown like potatoes.

how are people even finding this thread after 2 years

Armored Yokai1 votes

-Kite him or poke him from a distance, do NOT try and 1v1 him unless you are trynd or kayle or a darius with enough hemo stacks or a very skilled person who can outplay him -last whisper stacks with his ult and he can get 100% armor penetration -yasuo benefits from BT so take mortal reminder to negate his healing so he doesn't heal from that insane damage output -also take the JG route if he is chasing you down so he can't dash to you using your minions -do avoid clumping together for a possible knockup hitting you -bait his windwall so that you can use whatever projectile skill-shot to hit him -always go with someone with lots of CC so you can attack him while he is CC'd -silences are good against him so he can't cast abilities

This is not true. Armour penetration stacks multiplicatively. The actual number is more like 75% bonus armour penetration.

then why does it say 100% while pressing C to look at extra stats after using the ultimate, this includes the 7% penetration from masteries.

Only real counter to Yasuo is him making mistakes, he can counter every possible thing in this game with his kit and build.

PROJECT Fizz1 votes

Not really. As a yasuo player, I can attest to there being a low amount of counters, the ones that do exist _hurt a lot _. High mobility low skill shot champions can normally take him out. Mistakes are also a big part, believe me. And as yasuo, mistakes are EASY to make.

The first step is saying who you are playing

Pick someone that is melee that does good basic attack damage and can catch up to his opponent quickly.

Heres a few just to name some:

  1. Nasus
  2. Jayce
  3. Jax
  4. Nocturne

naw he'll screw you as nasus

item 3157 item 3110 item 3143 summoner 3

If you're top laner consider both tank items above. Also ask your support to buy one of these asap. I've had games against late game Yasuo and I literally had to tell my support to buy anti AD. Feels terrible man.

Arcus Diabolus1 votes

Keep in mind that his E can only go in a certain direction in relation to any enemy units and only so far. This tells you his only possible dash paths and the exact place he will be. Use that to predict his movements and punish him accordingly. Naturally, melee will have a harder time at this, since simply getting close gives him something else to dash through.

Ben Dover6661 votes

Go vlad, Darius, rammus, riven, poppy, Nasus with stacks. For items go full armour with thronmail:)))) Fight him when he has no minions to dash to and cc him until he lies lifeless on the ground

BobaFlautist1 votes

Teamfight - his 1v1 gets super strong lategame.

You basically have to treat him like he's a fancier master Yi...have a tank sit on him, exhaust him, and don't let your team get engaged on. Force out his windwall (any strong cc or even the adc autoing him should do this), keep squishies away from him, and then your adc should be able to auto him to death easily enough.
