Just curious, why is 10 bans being tested (or used) in professional play before solo q?
Did i miss a rioter post about this?

The ban format for pro play and regular play is going to be different, since pros know their opponents and are all in a position to pick/ban for one another. They settled on a format for pro play a bit before regular play, so that was one factor.
Another factor is the new bans require people to be using the new client. In pro play they can enforce that so it's not an issue, but in solo q theres still plenty of people using the old client, so the earliest they could give solo q 10 bans is after the old client is fully retired.
Oh wow, lol if thats the case ill keep the 3 a side because the new client is buggy as all hell xD
Many people felt (including rioters involved in the old clients code) the old client was buggy as all hell, which is why they're making the new one.
It's not totally ready yet which is why theres still some lurking issues for some players, but its certainly coming along, and they'll only push everyone into it once it's as reliable or probably better than the old one.
Not sure if there was a post about this, but 10 ban system isn't being tested in professional. They used 10 ban to make sure the players can ban whatever need be. Like Camille when she first game out, and even now. Camille was just broken along with Rengar and Kha'Zix, riot was testing this as a way to allow pros to ban out flavor of the month champs while still being able to deny team comps.
We won't get 10 bans until the Beta client is out of Beta and everyone downloads it. Source? I don't feel like digging around to find the link :/ I think it was on an Ask Riot once.
The new client is required.
The main issues pro players have it is that any client issues can be dealt with in a controlled environment. This isn't applicable to the general playerbase.
yea you did miss the Rioter post.
I think it is a video
