Complaining About Champions
Is quite akin to taking on Everest with a pickaxe. Some champions have been the way they are since release, were generally far worse, and yet people still assume that any attention what-so-ever is being placed to a forum post with 30 votes. In seven years, I have watched champions get re-worked for two reasons.
1: Completely mutilated mechanic that simply did not work as intended. 2: A professional player complains.
Generally the first option was more prevalent before ranked came into being... it seems that broken mechanics get ignored for the most part now days until it is brought into ranked play. Which, then, the higher ranking players begin to complain, and things are suddenly fixed or disabled. This is why:
RIOT used to actually listen to it's player base, back when there were 5,000 or so of us. In fact we even managed to construct (amateurishly) a couple of champions on the boards that were then put into play that you all enjoy complaining about so very much now. The simple fact of the matter is, however, that these boards move far too quickly for a company of their size to actually sit and discuss every complaint... and to be honest, as their main intent has gone from being the Most Customer Interactive Gaming Company to an E-Sports Company, all that truly matters in a business model is your ranked play. That is why those of us who have, literally, spent nearly 10,000$ on this game and do not play ranked? Do not complain about champions beyond passing remarks. We actually know where the money is pointing, and it isn't pointing towards those of us in the Normal Queue. Spending ten grand on a game is phenomenally less than what they made at the first PAX, let alone any of the much larger events they have hosted or taken part in.
Thus... by all means, continue to wail away on the boards. Sometimes rather good points are indeed made, and when your tournament players get on board with your post something might be done (it has happened). That being said, begging for a RIOT response to your thread, or even funnier declaring that you will quit the game, is doing no one... especially you... any good. Is it true some of the champions are flat broken? Yes. Have they been for a very long time? Yes. Nothing has changed that has made them -more- broken (granted occasionally item changes will bust things.) Most of you just forget some champions even exist until they appear in such-and-such tournament and they begin to be played again.
Examples: AP Ezreal used to be worse. (Higher ult ratio, he used to heal, etc) Master Yi has always done that if farmed (granted I agree about Sated) Riven has simply never really changed overmuch. Darius will still dunk you. Renekton hasn't changed. Garen is Garen... he was worse. Ryze used to actually add mana with his ult as well, making everything do more damage. Zed has been that way since release. Akali has always been Akali, except she hit much harder. (There is a reason the first Tank Meta started... assassins came out of the wood work) etc.
Enjoy your day.
