Can we talk about Bards W?

Its useless unless you really like useless spells.

EDIT: that punchline was a little bit exaggerated.

I really mean't his heal is only good during early game set up for laning / jungling. Past the 20 min marker point in the game and i can almost garuntee that bard will never get a full W charged up for full potential heal on an ally.

Problem is that it takes 10 seconds to charge up. Its hard to plan 10seconds in the future whats going to happen and where, even so i can't place them under enemy grounds because they'll just step on them. My problem with bards heal is that its not a heal used to save peoples lives, its just a lane sustain heal that your laner can use to get an extra boost of hp when he needs to. (AND THATS ABOUT ALL ITS GOOD FOR)

But the crazy part is, we all love playing bard because the rest of his kit is so fucking awesome, so props to any designer out there that had a part in this. I love playing bard, i love his Q... I love his W(pre 20min) and love his E and R. The meeps are an added bonus to my fun time with bard. But please for the love of god, lower his W charge time or make them scale with meeps!

its honestly good early game, but late game it becomes nothing more then a minor speed boost, imo it needs some sort of buff late game like maybe scaling with chimes or soemthing

I always start W on bard

Why?

It's a safe start

I can go to whichever lane will have the hardest time (of if all look like good match ups the strongest to help them stomp)

And I'll place 1-3 shrines for them, then give some shrines to jungler, recall, and run back B4 minions spawn

It can change a lane by the early game sustain of giving an extra potion or 3 to someone worth of instant healing

For example I gave it to a riven, and she stomped because she had 3 extra hp potions for the early levels so she didn't have to worry about her trades, she was able to overpower the enemy through the extra sustain

I brought this up elsewhere but I think the speed boost is pretty useful on top of the heal.

Except even uncharged it does about the same as a Sona heal and only 35 less base healing than a Nami heal.

At full charge it does only 10 less healing than a Soraka W, which costs her 10% of her max health...

Reducing the charge time would make it incredibly OP. Just accept that healing in league doesn't scale well in late game (unless you're Soraka)

You think about his W wrong. Early game the heal is good, yes. After 20 minutes the function is different. Keep 3 up mid, fully charged at all times. Or top / bot, wherever the action is. Use your W as an instant heal and movespeed boost since it won't consume any of the 3 on the ground. It's really a solid ability if you anticipate where the action is. Even if you're not good at that, it is still an on demand heal.

I like to place shrines in places where I think I will E later for a big heal after magical journey.
