Let bard chimes give exp like jungle camps do.

Give exp based on the average level within the game.

They do.

Phife7 votes

No, its a flat amount. It doesn't scale with the game at all actually.

Hard4Hamsters3 votes

Woops. Misread what you meant. Thought you were saying they don't give XP. Either that or make them spawn more often.

Phife2 votes

oh yeah, no.

Saianna1 votes

They could spawn flat amount (like 5~) at the start of the game. Wouldn't hurt anybody

Phife1 votes

But the outlining problem is scaling within the game.

Maybe make the spawn timer reduce by 1 second per every 2 minutes of game time down to a cap (say 30 seconds from 50), so that at 30 minutes in they spawn every 35 seconds?

That would give him a huge XP boost for lane, he would ding 2 so incredibly early.

What they SHOULD do is give a few 3 chime waves in the early game. Right now only 1 chime spawns on the second and third waves, so the 5th - 9th could spawn 3 apiece.

chimes really need to give more exp as the game advances. Chimes give a flat 20 exp at all stages of the game and that is not enough

I agree.

Only if I as the enemy can crush them by walking over them.

Oh you mean like the Rek'Sai tunnels because we all know that you need compensation for destroying something that Bard has no control over and spawn in some pretty stupid locations (aka under enemy tower or in the middle of the lane). Do you want 5g with it too? Because that's what they did to Rek'Sai because you know deny her tunnels to use and ult to isn't enough to make you destroy them.

I mean ever heard of using them as bait? If bard is nearby you know he may try to get the chime and you can kill him. Isn't that enough? Do we really need to go down the Rek'Sai route when his gives even less utility.

No, I don't want gold for it. I don't think RekSai tunnels should give gold either. However, as it is, there is no counter play in his chimes. I like counter play, I like Thresh passive. Want to know why? Because his souls only spawn for a limited time and because you can actually force a contest over them. He wants them? Gonna have to come get them, so I'm going to stand here and make you trade for them. Or, you can throw your lantern, but then you just blew a CD that's a rescue and a shield. This is the kind of play I like, people having to make decisions. Bard chimes? Better get mobies and some other MS boosting items and then just go collect chimes while I roam to make plays, which get me around even faster, and then return to lane (again faster) to soak up the minion XP and support my ADC.

So, either they give flat XP and stay as they are, or they get a ratio of XP and we add some counter play to them. Things such as: enemies can crush them. They only spawn for X period of time and then vanish into the celestial realm from whence they came. etc.

Problem is Bard doesn't infinitely scale off chimes. Meaning the have infinitely less value. Bard isn't going to risk a chime when he already had to basically stand on it for a temp boost just to die. Thresh may if he's bad but at least he got something out of it and his reach for his souls is further.

He is pretty weak. He by far doesn't need more counter play he needs something in his kit to make him relevant at some point in the game rather than hoping for that 1 good ult. And thresh souls also don't just spawn themselves under enemy towers and basically wave at you and say hi and taunt you knowing you can't get them. The minion had to die there and for that to happen that meant you were farming rather than taking the tower.

it would be nice if chimes replenished ur current meep count

GaleWinUnleashed1 votes

Provided you're out of combat, that is.

captainkaiger1 votes

That'd be a start, but in my mind the problem lies in that you're given this reason to go roaming and collect chimes, when they don't give any mana or experience back, and more often than not the chimes spawn in very problematic places. You're given too little reward for such a great risk that it's easier not to mention safer and offers much more experience to just sit with your Carry for 20 minutes then go on a massive chime collecting spree.

Phife1 votes

They do actually give a good amount of mana per chime, my problem is the exp is a flat whopping 20 exp even if you're 30 min into a game... what does that do for me?

captainkaiger1 votes

The mana I'm fine with but that's the nail on the head. 20 XP the entire game. "Why should I roam and upgrade this unique kit when it puts me in too much risk, and I get more XP from just standing on a minion wave with my carries?"

Riot pls.

While we're at it can we also get a timer for when knew ones spawn?

Phife1 votes

While thats not a bad idea, the thing is chimes last for 10 min. So even if they spawn you could let 20 spawn then go pick them up in a single minute...

WarlockLaw1 votes

The reason it would be nice is because theyes spawn partially based on his location, so you can use that to force them to spawn closer to safe areas on the map, as apposed to them spawning while you are warding river 3 minutes into the game and both ending up by the enemies buff

TBh theres alot of QoL changes that could have been done to bards kit before he was released and they didn't think to much about this champ.

Jefftiffy1 votes

Just thought of an interesting tweak to Bards kit to make this possible.

Bard gets an extra 5/10/15 xp per chime with each rank up of his ult. Meaning it wouldn't do that much to change him, but he would get more xp and be rewarded more for roaming rather than the awkward roaming support role that requires the enemy to be blind, over extended, and poorly communicated. Or you know make his passive get a start of 20 xp per chime and then scale champ level - 1 per chime as extra xp.

Both work the same but one helps him get to late game faster than the other.

Phife1 votes

I mean, im not going to dismiss the idea... But id rather they work like jungle camps where they give you exp based on average level within the game.
