Is there a reason taliyah has such a low pick rate?

I mean I find her extremely fun to play, she has quite a nice burst, considering she is, in my opinion a utility mage (I stg if someone calls her a disruptor or some sort of sub class in attempts to "correct " me ill blow my head off) And personally she feels super safe, as in if someone is in your face and you are in danger you can push them away and leave, also her ult is arguably one of the funnest interactive ultimates ive ever used, Is she just undesirable to the player base? Or is the meta just not in her favor?

She got nerfed hard and her new w feels really awkward to play with. She'd probably be played more if the nerfs weren't so hard, really. I only see one tricks play her anymore.

Shortest answer: She's new, she's expensive, and this being League, there's no reason to pick her when other champions do the same thing but she doesn't do it better, which is why she's not picked after being nerfed into line.

Yes, in terms of the function of individual abilities, that's correct. But that's not what I am talking about. I am talking about what she does as a champion and for waveclearing mid, roaming to other lanes or being a magic damage threat and so on, there are a lot of champions who do that. There's no reason to pick Taliyah when there's a more efficient choice for what you want and no reason to pick her up if you already have greater ability on a pick who does that. Until things change, what reason is there to pick her other than personal preference?

She falls off late game because she has no way to get past the enemy front line to burst the enemy's back line. She's still a good pick though if you can play her well. Right now I think she's actually in a really good spot. People that think she's bad are just bad with her.
