Am I the only one who hasn't forgotten about Ryze?

The Morde rework is getting a lot of discussion, with constant comparisons to Cassiopeia, Kass, Sion, and Sona - But no one mentions Ryze.

He's unloved, unplayed, underpowered, and his kit is still toxic bullshit. I love him, but I know his gameplay is not healthy - read about Ryze's balance problems here.

He isn't underpowered at all, but he is mega toxic for sure.

Lowest win rate champ by a large margin - if you are really practiced with him a with a coordinated team he can do alright, but that's true for anyone.

Lowest skill floor of any champ right now, and his skill ceiling isn't high enough for him to be worth while.

Once you get his rotations down and get enough mana, all you have to do is get in snare range and you can 1v1 pretty much anyone.

He is one of those champs that requires your team and the player to know his strengths and weaknesses for him to carry. That is why his win rate is so low even though he is pretty well balanced otherwise.

If that was true, he'd be seeing a fair amount of high tier play. He's not. He's seeing a VERY small amount of high tier play, but he's mostly irrelevant. Read the post linked in the main post to get a better understanding.

I was really good with Ryze, and I presume I'm still decent, but I just feel no reason to pick him. Plenty of other tops that are just as feast, and less famine.

Er... Azir's win-rate is JUST lower, I believe. But it's expected for Azir to have a low win-rate, because he's tricky to use. Ryze is basically the easiest character to use and his win-rate is shit, so presumably he either doesn't work well against current meta stuff or... Is just underpowered.

Ryze isn't very easy to use anymore, but he's SUPER binary - its a basic check if you have more mana than they have HP for the most part. He's more or less unbalance in his current state - its toxic as hell, so they nerfed him into a point that no one plays him.
