Kayn is a perfect example of a healthy generalist

The dude HAS TO CHOOSE A PLAYSTYLE IN THE GAME he can't do everything at once unlike LeeSin

just like Khazix , they're both healthy generalist because they can choose one playstyle (like poke with kha) and give up an other playstyle

in dota2, Rubick is the ultimate generalist as he can become any enemy champions with spellsteal, but it has a cd, he has to decide what he wants to be instead of doing everything

you need to rework every single generalist of this game to be like them, they have to choose to focus on something in each game instead of everything

Kayn is honestly the first new champion i have found THIS boring. I have zero interest in playing him, and that's a first - i've allways tried new champions and reworks right after their release, but i think i'll pass on this one.

What is it he does, exactly? What is he supposed to be? He's like THE most GENERIC anime protagonist EVER. Is he an assassin? A fighter? A diver? A melee marksman? What?

Cant wait to let him meet insert champion with any form of CC here.

i don't really think it's making that big a choice

i think the only major thing he's really giving up is sustain and the CC if he goes shadow mode

Uhh...doesn't his transformation depend on how many ranged vs melee champions he's beaten?

From my understanding, he doesn't really get to choose his new playstyle depending on how the enemy team is set up. He'll always have the more advantageous form because the targets that make up that form make up most of the enemy team.

I don't think that's a healthy generalist. In theory, the choice part is a great idea. But I don't think it's been executed well.

From the videos, it looked like if he beat enough melee people to transform and enough ranged people to transform, then he got to choose which form he wanted.

Ralanr1 votes

So whatever he beats first he's more likely to transform into.

Plus what if it's one of those fully ranged teams? He can't actually choose Darkin form then because he hasn't killed melee characters.

Ahristocats1 votes

why would you choose darkin form when the enemy team is full of range

Ralanr1 votes

Well I personally like having more hard CC in my kit, but this brings up another issue I said earlier.

From my understanding, he doesn't really get to choose his new playstyle depending on how the enemy team is set up.** He'll always have the more advantageous form because the targets that make up that form make up most of the enemy team.**

He may Choose his path as a generalist, but it isn't much of a choice between two options. He'll always go for the one that better applies to the general group of either more squishy targets or more durable targets.

A choice implies their is a sacrifice in picking one over the other. That does not show itself here.

Y I just realized he can only transform once a game so.. hes probably fine.
