Were Mana Pots ever Considered OP?

Never heard that they were so I don't understand the need to remove mana pots........ congrats League on being the first moba (any game basically) to not have mana pots when mana is used as a resource. You seem all kinds of silly. If youre gunna take off mana pots you should might as well take off health pots too, its not fair whatsoever. But this is ridiculous and you need to put them the heck back as well as the 75 wards. I'm so mad. Mid lane so hard to bear now especially against resourceless or nonmana.

The hell you gotta ruin the game so much. Thanks for ruining how I start the game for Mid and Support. I've played and I still have the same mana issues as before but now its worse because I have to recall early asf to get more mana (esp with champs like sona) because I can't pop a pot to stay in lane longer. Well good bye, you're ridiculous & I'm done.

Would also like cooldown for ap in masteries not for defense wtf... the new system also is not great at all. Im now pretty much forced to use biscuits.... I never used those before. Not flexible to how we want it at all.

They were never OP, it is just riot messing it all up.. again.

I think Riots word were along the lines of. Too good on certain champs, complete crap on others. Which apparently made it Impossible to balance. Riot had the same philosophy when they changed the HP and Mana regen. (cause they couldn't balance the item around all relevant Parties.

And most likely, that imbalance held every other Mana gen item in a state of imbalance. (or something like that)

Its not that bad, the refill potions restore mana.....

You can refill them too.

I manage with them so far.

item 2033 50 mana per charge, 3 charges for 150 total mana.

The old mana pot was 100 per, but no refills. Its kind of a deal to get health and mana for a single charge. It may not be the deal you want, but its something.

Maybe its time to invest in mana regen runes. I suggest the scaling regen runes, they become as good as flat around 5th level, and just get better from there. Also, the mana regen mastery needs a slight buff. Despite being % based it is still only 1.5% of MISSING mana when it should be a bit higher.

Example, a champ with 600 mana blows through 550 of it, they now get back... 8.25 mana.... yeah thats nice, but the same champ at 300 mana only gets 4.5. The effect continues to dwindle until youre missing 70 mana where it regens 1.05 mana.

I propose that Meditation be changed:

Where it is now its 0.03% per point (5 points gets you 1.5% of missing mana).

I say we split it up to 0.02% of missing mana and 0.01% of maximum mana, per point in the skill. At 5 points it will be 1% of missing mana/5 sec, and 0.5% of total mana/5 sec.

The 600 mana champ from before missing 550 will regen 5.5 mana (1% of missing) and 3 mana (0.5% of total mana). Thats the same number as before, but at 300 mana before they only get 4.5, with what Im suggesting it would be 3 + 3, or 6 mana/5 sec, because of the combined missing/max mana regen.

"they made balancing stuff very difficult so we removed it xD!" -Rito

What are utility supports and mages again IN LANE?

Ok, some missunderstanding here: They removed Mana-Pots NOT because they are OP or inbalanced in any way!

They removed Mana-Pot because this Item could hide major design flaws and balance issues - A Champion should NEVER rely on those, IF someone does - it´s a bad design and needs to be addressed by balancing.

At least, that's what they want to achieve. ^^

honestly i always saw them as more of a trap then anything, if you cant manage your mana you should learn to do so. not use mana pots as a crutch. and while there are champs that utilize and or need them, they are few and far between. meaning to most new players mana potions are just a way for them to waste their gold. takeing them out is more about reducing clutter. not to mention now riot can use mana requirement as a better balancing tool without having to make champs have poppy level mana efficiency.
