The problem with hyper snowballing champions like Riven, Fizz, and other assassins

is not that there's no counterplay or that people don't know how to play against them.

The problem is if you mess up JUST ONCE, if you are out of position for even a second these champions can immediately capitalize on it, kill you, and start to make life miserable in general. And the worst part is most of these champs have a get out of jail free that they can use any time they're even close to being in danger of dying.

I know how to play the riven matchup and I know what to do to avoid dying but as a human, I am imperfect and will at some point get too close to her and then BAM ult flash stun qqqr dead and then she starts laughing over my dead body.

Champions shouldn't be able to punish mistakes easily and avoid being punished at the same time (see: Darius).

I'm not sure you're using the right terminology. Especially in the case of assassins, very few of them 'hyper snowball'. Most of them achieve a peak strength during the mid game, but tend to fall of late game. By their nature, assassins love single squishy targets. Hence why they tend to have trouble when teams start to bundle up late game.

This is very true. The worse part of playing against these champions is when you beat them in lane, keeping down in cs and either not dying or killing them repeatedly, then they get one kill somewhere else on the map and BOOM, they are a threat and your work means nothing.

Indeed, a lee sin, Riven, Zed master take advantage of punishing players. If you mess up just Once. You will die. If you play perfectly, you will always beat them. But one teeny mistake and you're gone.

The problem with riven is Bruisers counter her, which dont get played as much as straight tanks. The problem with Fizz is that there isnt any good CC to lock him down, tf stun card, vi ult, lissandra ult are some of the only point and click ccs to lock him down.
