He is incredibly slow as a champion and his abilities are all easy to dodge. This means with Lucian, Teemo, Jayce, almost any other ranged top, you'll get massively poked. Without the heal on creeps, there isn't enough sustain to keep you in the lane.
You already lose hard to tanks like Garen ...
Riven has a shield at her disposal to counter poke and much faster mobility and damage. Why would you pick aatrox over riven?
Schenix2 votesBecause his ultimate needs to be kept in his kit, not like they can just rework it again so easily. As long as it exists, he's a pro play problem. As long as he can lane even moderately well alongside that, he's absolutely a pro play and higher elo problem.
Put him alongside Azir, Ryze, Ornn, Galio, Irelia, Akali, and Kalista.

On My Kill List1 votesbecause he's a badly designed champ. strong early, strong mid , strong late. shit ton of cc,revive mechanic which makes him all too easy to do tower dives with early on which translates into free gold for junglers with any functioning brain.(one reason why hes busted in pro play;that plus hes just op in general) not even sure where he falls off. he is one of the few champ who can basically take on just about anyone and win.( much like irelia before her disarm and shield shredding removals ) this basically translates into a busted champion. so im glad he's being dumpstered. and i hope riot can do some more nerfs for him.

garen is a fighter.
aatrox is actually supposed to be a juggernaut like garen, but stacking ad and blowing people up with his high ratios has just proven to be more effective.
and garen is a more specific counter matchup to aatrox because of their kits.

Except he can't because he doesn't have the kit to be one if you go tanky, you deal little damage, if you go damage you die too fast. Or with garen, you have that mad high damage kit, and going tanky still means you are successful.
Not only that, but Garen has passive sustain in lane, Aatrox will lose his sustain, as hitting the champions for heal in a tight lane won't be a lot of time the solution
