so instead of evening the play field between west / east coast they just swap it?
lmao...wat

They didn't swap anything. Everyone is equal now. It benefits East coast players and hurts west coast, but everyone is still equal. There will be some adjusting to do for West coast but it will all regulate soon enough and the playing field will be leveled. As it stands, west coast players have an advantage and Riot is taking care of that.
Cutting the servers into 2 divides the playerbase in two, which isn't good either. West coast players have had 5 seasons of boosted ping, and now it's time to make it fair.
No it wont be equal, dont play stupid. all east coasters with the exception of florida are going to be around 30-40ping now...
No? If they swapped it the west coast would be getting 150+ pings post swap, which will not happen.

people in oregon and washington did get 150 on new server lol
Then that's a problem they are likely fixing, or said people have some pretty crappy equipment/internet access.
Riot will keep working until the average ping over there is within their target range.
I still think its crazy for someone in the northwest who currently gets 20 ping to go to 80 ping. I understand that the poor east coast servers arent fair but at least they are used to it. I think 2 servers would be the best of both worlds.
80 is very playable, and is half of what the east coast players are "used to". Just as the east coast players did, the west coast players will get used to it.
playable is different from it being a huge drastic change for someone nay, all of west coast to adapt to.
Unfortunately for the west coast players Riot is thinking about the majority of players for this server. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you'll get used to it.
Live in Hawaii Stuck with 110 ping, 90 if the planets align Server change will bump me up 40 ping.
Times like these, it feels great to be a Great Plains player.
