Unless you are someone with excellent mobility like 
there is no real counterplay. He deals so much damage and at such long range that you just get bullied out of lane over and over and over again. He gets 1 kill on you and boom, wins the lane right there. What would you recommend as a counter to him besides banning or going someone who has extreme mobility? What if he picks after me? What do I do then?

JackMcSnipeyz1 votesThe fact that he basicly has a 2.5 "blind" between reloads makes it easy to find windows of oppritunity. People often see the damage his 4th shot does and panic and try to run, but instead thats when you need to engage him. Wait for him to have 2 shots, then engage him, by the time he finished reloading, you should be outta there.

Thats why you should engage in hid 2nd shot, he wont have enough damage to kill you, and if he tries to run away you can CC him (most midlaners have at least slow). Also his Q does barely any damage if its not chained with minions.

and many other mages can nuke th living hell out of him. I dont know what you play into him but for me he is easy to deal with(and normally a free lane win like all adcs mid).
