Diamond matchmaking is bad and with autofill the games are really unbalanced.

I'm sure below you guys experience this too but in diamond you see it much more, because there's less players. Can't tell you how many games are over in the first 10 mins or even first 5 mins when everybody dies at least once and you feel the tilt and you just know you lost. I've been on both sides of those losses and it's not fun. You just insta win or insta lose in the first 10 mins and then you wait the ff at 20 or sometimes everybody just waits in the fountain. Then you check that your d5 top laner that got autofilled was vs. a d1 top lane main and you can't even blame them... the matchmaking coupled with autofill makes games so unbalanced, that this is the closest I was to uninstalling league. I just don't know how much longer I can give my all in games just to get fucked and lose in the first 5 mins of the game. It's just enraging and demotivating. Idk what the solution should be, but I know the games are too snowbally and matchmaking/autofill doesn't make it easier at all.

If there is an elo hell it is right there. Every single game feels like a couple of silvers mixed with actual diamonds. Like i'm playing swain and the enemy has good waveclear but i'm so strong i can easily 1v3 so i go to play sidelanes so my team can push through mid and half your team goes "OMG WE HAVE TO TEAMFIGHT MID WHAT ARE U DOING STOP FARMING; PLEASE REPORT SWAIN REFUSING TO PLAY IN TEAM" and all i can think about is "is this diamond? for real? what are these people". Or yesterday i was playing gp, 1/0 mid did pretty well. Suddenly top naut and botlane come mid turn my lane into a clownfiesta. I'm a level 8 gp and have nothing up and he goes all in so all i can do is Q them every 5 seconds. After he dies he writes all chat "report GP pls, he's clearly trolling". They don't even know the fucking champs in the game wtf what do you expect from a level 8 GP who just used two of his barrels and has no ult up, i didn't even have trinity.

The best part is, the more games i win the worse the teams get. From dia 3/4/4/5/5/5 and a couple of plat 1 i get (one game before my dia 4 promos ofc) placed into a full plat 2/1 game. What is this bullshit. ofc hard inting 4/16 botlane 18 mins into the game. A boosted jungler with 80 % winrate goes 1/8 and has absolutely NO idea what he is doing. Powerfarming on lee sin while the rest of the map collapses. Seems like a legit 80% winrate plat 1. And i was dumb enough to pick a tank for our team. It's so frustrating how you have to literally 1v9 hardcarry every single game when you are in the "top 0,7%" of the playerbase. You#d expect these people to have a brain but idk. Game quality is absolutely piss poor and idgaf about 1 min q time when the game is over in 5 mins because you are in a team of three jungle mains autofilled into adc, supp and midlane. Top kek.

Last season I was autofilled TWICE as a Diamond 4 into a Diamond 1/Masters game. Dunno how that makes sense. Put me 3.5 divisions higher on a role I never play. I love the description for it too. It's like "To guarantee fair matches..." what.

Then again they leave broken champs broken for so long without meaningfully nerfing them so clearly they have no idea what "fair" is.

It's actually the only elo I'd argue that "autofill is garbage" has merit.

Diamond players, particularly D3+, very rarely give an opportunity to come back into the game after they get ahead, and being autofilled gives them a significant chance to take that lead.

I'm not super high elo yet, so I can usually rely on good mid to late game play and carry regardless of my role. Diamonds do not enjoy this luxury.

This is what i dont get. Why do diamonds complain when every 5th game they make a game unwinnable for a challenger player? Autofill is okay, and I should very well expect Diamond + to be able to play at least 3 roles at that level, and if they can't, they deserve to lose the LP. Hell even Challenger one tricks get banned out and still win games, while having 4 diamonds drag them down. That is the difference between Diamond and Masters/Challenger, Diamond complain about shitty teammates, Masters/Challengers complain about having to play with diamonds. If the people above you are complaining about having to play with you, how can you then go and complain about crappy teammates. Except this: Challengers and Masters still win games despite all this autofill and crap.

Because especially in lower elos players are garbage anyways and it doesn't make a big difference? You dont want an adc main in the jungle facing a 3 seasons diamond jungle main pubstomping your team. And since there are less players in the top percent they are more likely to get autofilled. So hard to understand?

Its not hard to understand...I just could literally give two shits about your autofill problem in Diamond. You're in diamond people are supposed to work together at that level. Talk to your team and see if anyone is willing to trade, if not, then QQ and play. Diamond is like the top 0.05% of ranked players 70+% are in Silver and Bronze, around 17% in Gold, something like 9% in plat and 005% in diamond and up.

It's a problem across all boards. I'm in Bronze and I only get my primary role maybe 30% of games, the rest are sometimes my secondary and mostly autofill, and thats apart of the 70% majority of players. So honestly gtfo with your Diamond pride.

You're taking it shitty buddy. The reason it's more of a problem in high elo is because the players are more experienced and that's where mains truly shine.

You don't want a diamond Yasuo main against a diamond Thresh main up top. That is an automatic win for the Yasuo, regardless of who the Thresh main plays, unless the jungler camps Yasuo for the Thresh main.

As a silver elo player, if I queue top and get stuck on support, I still know that as long as I have half a brain, I can help my ADC win every trade, even if I'm against bot mains. As a diamond elo player, do you REALLY think a top main is going to be as on point as a support main who has hundreds of hours more in experience with the role?

Yes, autofill sucks everywhere. But at least in bronze and silver, we only lose our lanes from matchmaking alone if we're up against smurfs or boosters.

LMAO what are you talking about? Sure a Diamond level support is going to support better then a diamond level top player. But thats not the point the point is you can communicate with your team and see who of your team is experienced in that role. Like I got autofilled support. I told my team, "Dang I don't usually ever support but Ill do my best" Someone then said, "I main thresh lets trade"

If you get to diamond and you haven't learned at least 2 different roles then you "one-trick ponied' Yourself to diamond and you shouldn't really be there. 5 people on a team, who've played league for hundreds of hours at least having knowledge of 2 roles. That means your team should have a pool of experience with 10+ roles. You can should talk to your team and see who IS the most experienced in that position and switch roles.

AGAIN I COULD STILL GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT DIAMOND PROBLEMS. Riot focuses their updates on the LCS scene which affects the vast minority of players. Diamonds represent 0.05% of the player base, sorry if you have problems, we all do, and when a bronzie or a sliver player has a problem they're curb-stomped relentlessly by Anyone gold and up. So I feel no pity. Riot will probably fix the problem because high elo leads to the LCS which is where they want to make money and focus the game so the 70+% of their player base is just along for the ride.

They make balancing decisions based on the most even group of players. The fact that they're the minority doesn't mean Riot gives no shits, it means that this minority of people know what they're doing an a presumed even level. That mid Yasuo main doesn't know the game any better than that top Gangplank or that bot Braum. In lower elos, it's more random, even in your own league. I can understand this even being in silver.

People DO have knowledge of multiple roles in diamond. And when you queue, you CHOOSE two roles. Being autofilled into a third that you DON'T play doesn't mean you one-tricked to diamond at all. Grow up.

I really don't think autofill is a problem when there's something called 'communication.' Instead of whining about autofill why don't you just ask someone to switch with you to a role you're more comfortable with? If you're in diamond then you should be proficient in 1-3 roles. Your teammates want to maximize their chances of winning, and personally I will switch with someone if they ask.

If no one wants to switch then feel free to dodge and take a 4 lp loss instead of a 16-20 lp loss. You can get assigned a different role the next game or ask your new teammates to swap if you get autofilled again.

All of my games today were like that. Unfortunately most of the times I was on the losing side of that. But yeah all games end in a stomp in one way or another due to people being autofilled. I play around 5-6 games per at the afternoon or later in the evening (Currently in D4 figured those are peak player times but I guess not) and at least 3-4 games we have someone autofilled on the team.

I had a game where I was gold 3. Plat 5 on the other team. Silver 4 (first season of ranked) on our team. Take a wild guess as which side lost.

I'm Gold 2, the enemy team had a plat 4 a plat 5 and the rest G3+. My team had a silver 3 and every gold person on my team was a lower gold than me. :))))

I was once gold 1 and played with a plat 1. Everyone including me was carrying him. It was weird.

Probably got boosted or something. When I see a diamond 5 border in my gold games 3/4 times they were boosted, even admitting it in one case.

I had a guy on the enemy team today, he was diamond last season. Gold 2 I think and had a 45% win rate this season. I see what youre talking about.

So true. not sure if this is due to auto-fill, but it creates way too much randomness in win/loss. So many free win / free loss. The games where you actually feel like YOU made a difference (and thus, kinda deserve the LP win or loss) are rare. And thus, climbing up or down the ladder, which is purely based on win/loss, becomes mostly random, and it is frustrating.

It isn't just bad in Diamond, its bad everywhere. Just think, Challengers have to play games with you guys, if they had the choice, trust me they wouldn't play the game with you guys, and they complain about how braindead you Diamonds are, and ask constantly why you are in their games. Silver matchmaking pits Golds against Bronzes. Its horrible. But is isnt just for you guys, its for every elo. Just think, for every game you have bad teammates, you make a challengers game unwinnable.

I'm still trying to figure out why i lose more LP compared to how much i gain per lose/win ( and yes MMR is above average by 10 or so normally). I win and i get 18 or so; I lose and there goes ~24
