Playing League of Legends just makes me sad now.

Disclaimer: This isnt about balance, reworks, champions or the fact i'm chat restricted(whoops).

I still have my favorite Champs, and every so often i'll get on just to play them but these last 4 weeks or so i haven't really played much, and i used to play all the time, whenever i got off work i'd go home, get a good Evelynn game in and then leave, so about 1-5 games a day depending on my mood.

This is where the trouble starts, every game progressively got worse than the last, the games became extremely unfun to play, the teammates i had even more toxic(I'm not an angel either though, obviously) and overall the experience of playing league has become a lot less fun for me.

I got on over the last few days and was reminded really quickly why playing a new champion who just got released is nearly impossible for basically a whole week, not that big a deal, i'll just play a champ i love and have a blast right? Wrong, so very wrong. I'm not sure what it is but the game's become stale, i'm just not having much fun anymore and regardless of a game being "Competitive" a game is made for fun too and that should be the top priority because the less fun a game is to play, the less player's go to it and the less player's choose to stay.

I'm not sure what the statistics are but based on last year's horrendous season, the constant flood of complaints from player's on the boards and reddit, and the lack of significant action from riot to fix said problems, the game feels pretty dry and it also feels stagnated, like there isn't much there aside from the competitive aspect and not everyone is competitive. I actually quit Overwatch the same year it came out because of how infuriating it was, it wasn't fun to me, i know some people still like it, just like a lot of people still like League of Legends but for me i don't know if i like this game anymore.

Not everyone needs to be competitive and i think riot's kind of forgotten the core aspect of a game in favor of the competitive aspect. How fun is it for everyone to play?

Unfortunately this is no longer a team game. It's basically a coin toss on who has the bigger idiot on a given team. The problem is that now that there are so many people playing league of legends, a majority of them play ranked. They watch the pro's play and then think they are ready for ranked.

People don't understand that itemization, objective control and team comps play a major role in winning games. Plat 3 and below your games will consist of games primarily centered around TDM. (teamdeath match).

Long gone are the glory days of que-ing up for ranked games, and getting competent people who understand the game. League has basically turned into a gaming trend that "everyone is playing, "to become a legend".

So what? If someone asks whys theres a tree being cut down, do you think the lumberjack is going to come up with a different story for each time someone asks"what is going on"?

This post argues why I think league isnt fun, why people arnt having as much fun, competitively or even casually. Playing games on repetition, (playing TDM every game) gets pretty stale.

You are talking about how this game isn't a teamgame anymore (which is false), how people watch pro-players and start ranked and how these people don't understand the general concept of the game.

OP talks about how this game isn't fun for him anymore, that it has become stale and generally frustrating.

Dafuq has your reply to do with the post? I wouldn't have said anything if OP talked about the stuff you did but he doesn't.

Only indirectly it has to do something with the post because having bad teammates all the time leads to frustration yes.

Most players participate in more non-ranked games than ranked games.

More players are playing ranked now that in any season throughout the history of league of legends. Regardless if it's casual or ranked the same applies. The game is full of way to many people who dont understand how to play, or dont care to improve themselves, or people who are constantly negative passive aggressive jerk offs who troll/feed when something doesnt go their way.

Riot seems to forget that most of us are casual players, it seems to pander more to competitive play nowadays hence making the game stale,removing the fun aspect.

Nail on the head. Who knew pandering to marksmen for years and devolving the game into a low durability nuke fight. Would make the game completely unfun. Riots bleeding players has since season 4. Marksmen need to be taken down 2 pegs for the overall health of the game

Riot has their own agenda, unfortunately they only base their nerfs/buffs off to the current meta.
