Archangel's Staff and Manamune

Ok sure but why··2 votes·4,902 views

Is there any way you can choose which one of the two upgrades when you buy both? For the past two YEARS, I've had to sell the Staff when I was at 748 stacks, max the Manamune, and re-buy the Staff again. It might be extremely worth it, but that shit wastes money.

Can you name a single example when you would actually want to run both? I can't picture any champion that that would work well on.

Kassadin.

He double procs muramana on his W, and his ult scales insanely well with mana (those two together get him to 3k mana).

But literally nothing in his kit scales off ad. I rarely even see him build item 3048. How long does it even take to stack both?

BUT he scales off mana, and his Q, W and all autos will proc the passive

It's for the skilled players who don't need a cheap shield in order to get kills

He can instantly proc it 4-5 times in a combo, meaning he deals an extra 24-30% of his max mana in a combo, plus 1-2 times his ad (cause usually you auto a couple times in his combo). 30% of 3000 mana is 900 damage. Not insignificant at all.

Not to mention his iltimate has an amazing mana scaling, so an extra 1000 mana is amazing on him.

And when he casts W and hits a champion, he restores 40% of his missing mana, potentially giving him back enough mana to cast TWO max mana cost ults (800 mana cost, reduced by 25% due to archangels/manamune).

They'll both be stacked around say 25-30 minutes.

I go Blitzcrank item 3003 item 3043 item 3115 item 3146 item 3089 item 3001

got me to rank 7 very quickly

also works well with Ezreal Ryze

Not to be rude, but you got to rank 7 doing that against unranked and low-mid bronze players. It's much easier to get S ranks in low elos. I promise you there are better items to build.

Oh yeah, like what? What's better than 400 damage per every auto, 1.60 attack speed, an extra 150 damage on every lightning passive and rocket-grab, a massive heal from every attack, and a literal 2000 shield for when someone might have more damage than you?

A 2000 shield

It's really awesome but you'll have a hard time making anyone believe you unfortunately.

I wish akali was a mana champion so I could build both on her lol.

I think that's the reason why she's not a mana champ tbh

Also her Q's would each proc muramana three times. It would be amazing goddamnit.

As someone who likes to play mana tank kassadin, I would love this. It would make him so good :D

Which did you buy first? Might need some experimenting.

Also if ur at 748 stacks why tf did u sell it. Just use it once more and then start stacking the Manamune.

Well that's the point of this thread. He has to sell the staff to ensure he gets Muramana with the first round of tear stacking since if you have both Tear items they "share" the mana count.

No the real issue is archangels has priority over muramana (probably cause its alphabetically before manamune), and manamune is 3 times harder to stack, so using archangel's 8 mana on cast to stack manamune is better as opposed to manamune's lame 3 on cast and 1 on auto.

The thing is, once you finish stacking one, the other starts stacking, right? But he was so fking close to finishing Seraph's Embrace - why didn't he just finish it and then start stacking the Manamune?

It's because manamune stacks 3 per cast and 1 per auto, while freaking archangels stacks at 8 per cast. Landing two autos puts it on cooldown in the case of archangels, giving a min 2 mana max 6 mana, but in the case of archangels the minimum is 8 mana and the max is 16. It almost stacks 3 times as fast.

Edit: made a mistake, seems the buffed manamune at some point., manamune gives 4 mana per spell cast/auto attack, meaning archangels only stacks twice as fast.

WAIT WUT

Manamune stacks 1 per auto????

That's not right....

Pierce The Veal1 votes

Ah wait they apparently changed it my bad. Wiki'd it, now each spell/auto gives 4. Nonetheless, much weaker than 8 per spell.

I cannot see why you'd ever want to buy both considering the time it takes to stack. That seems horribly inefficient.

Ok sure but why1 votes
  1. They both scale with max mana, so you'll get a ton of AP and AD from it

  2. Even AP champs can proc the muramana passive with single-target spells, like with Ryze Ezreal Blitzcrank

  3. The Arc Staff doesn't take that long to stack; that's the whole point to this thread
