Nerfed kat is STILL too strong right now...

wouldn't be surprised if they nerf her more, or if they feel with the AP itemization changes she'll preform slightly less in comparison to mages.

She is good vs mages though. Mage item buffs might actually make the meta swing more towards assassins again lol.

Nerfed Kat isn't too strong, it's just that the vast majority of the playerbase has no idea how to lane or play against her.

She's a pubstomp champion, nothing has changed since her rework in that sense. Players just refuse to learn how to play against her and so they ban her, which is counterproductive.

Yea, players above plat don't know what they're doing and thus that's why her winrate and playrate is higher.

That rockin 65% winrate in challenger, 59% in masters, and 55% in diamond are due to players not knowing how to play against her.

Sorry but no to that logic. Her effectiveness at snowballing and initially getting a lead are way too strong atm. They need to tweak her kit's numbers a bit more, but we'll see where she ends up with the itemization changes and meta trends (she loses liandry's burn for grevious wounds she already has, and other mages get stronger, but her matchups might be more favorable as a result and meta trend her stronger.)

My whole statement was actually directed at plats and higher specifically. Bronze-Gold players it's a given that they don't understand how Kat works, but plats-some challs. not understanding and/or not respecting her is even more embarrassing.

Also link me to that stat. that says she has a 65% winrate in Challenger, I'd love to see it. Although I wouldn't be surprised since most challenger players simply refuse to play around her in other ways apart from banning her.

Ironically enough Kat's usually not the primary issue, the rest of her team is and the rest of your team as well. Basically, if your team is incompetent she will find a way to go nuts and stomp the game, and if her team is competent it's just the nail in the coffin.

Plus, Kat's going to be somewhat weaker when the mage update hits since she's having Void Staff nerfed and Liandry's changed to reward mages who deal consistent damage, not assassins who burst and run.

Additionally, what's the problem with Kat being good right now? I'd rather Kat be good than have her spot filled by another dull mage who's been overplayed since release. On that note I do only think Kat is "good". She's not a meta definer or breaker, but she's certainly "good" in certain situations.

Kat's winrate goes up the further up the ladder she is.

This isn't a yi case specific to high elo only, that is only good off of bad players.

and if her team is competent it's just the nail in the coffin.

This applies with everything broken in the game at all times.

Again: This isn't a yi case specific to high elo only, that is only good off of bad players. Kat easily finds ways around all her weaknesses, either off of proper mechanics, or itemization to counter her threats. While most champs have a window to punish, kat doesn't with her lane safety and kill pressure. It doesn't take a bronze team for a kat to kill mid, roam bot, and snowball from there doing massive damage in teamfights. The only thing you can rely on is if the kat herself is bronze. Its a similar issue to kassadin except kassadin's pre-6 doesn't carry that much mobility and kill potential, he powercurves while kat is always power curving with each item purchase, and has access to tools to counter all her problems, be it hexdrinker, QSS, zhonyas, GA, or raw AP damage.

Additionally, what's the problem with Kat being good right now?

Good and broken are two different things.

I don't mind kat being viable, but when she's this effective and offers this unclear counterplay she needs trimmed down a little, whether its her early game or her mid-late game, she needs a point in the game where she isn't power curving, even assassins like talon or zed tend to fall off late game.

Also link me to that stat. that says she has a 65% winrate in Challenger, I'd love to see it. Although I wouldn't be surprised since most challenger players simply refuse to play around her in other ways apart from banning her.

OP.gg KR filtered statistics.

Also, if you want to use your logic, if the best and most intelligent at the game don't want to even deal with kat, that seems like a big hint of what an unhealthy state she's in that they can't easily see the counterplay and don't want to play against it.

This should help you out with what I'm saying: https://youtu.be/6FvJocbkfcQ?t=1177

Basically, Katarina is an extremely good champion when someone experienced with her plays her against other players who do not fully understand how their champion works and how she works. Believe it or not, a lot of plat+ players stick to whatever is freelo and never really have a "main". I mean, why learn a hard champ mid lane when you can just pick up an absurdly braindead and broken pick (Malzahar)?

This is what Kat does, she punishes players who do not respect her and the absurd amounts of damage she brings to a fight as well as players who disrespect her early cheeses due to this. In this same way she also punishes players for not understanding how she works. If more players knew that her Shunpo goes on a 3.08 sec cooldown pre-6 at rank 1 Shunpo and more players understood just how much damage she does we would likely see her winrate drop rather significantly. Also if more players spotted when she goes for roams and respected her roams instead of getting greedy with farming.

Effectively, Katarina is this champion who benefits immensely from the unknown, hence why she's really good in an environment which lacks co-ordination and forces players to prioritise learning how to play against other picks; known as solo queue. There are many reasons why she's simply a deadweight pick in competitive team play.

One important side note is that Kat still lacks actual CC. Sure, she can build Gunblade and/or Rylai's, but that does not fix her problem of being completely useless to her team unless she can safely blow her full rotation or in a dream scenario, reset and pop off.

They made Duskblade with the intention to help assassins do their job. If you are going with that logic, why not just remove Trinity Force (or other sheen items) because its super good on champs like Ezreal or Nasus? Like... wtf?

Except Kayn is useless as a champion and he'll be lucky to get even halfway to his form.
