If the Lux buffs on the PBE go through she's going to become FotM and get nerfed

unless Riot does the same thing they did with Gragas Q and reduce the range to compensate.

Short of that however it's sad how easy it is to see her pick/ban in soloqueue if these changes go through and get nerfed into a state worse than she was before the buffs.

I'm not a Lux main, but if I was I'd be dreading these buffs because there's no mistaking she will break mid lane in lower elo and get nerfed for it.

For those of you who haven't seen the changes yet: http://www.surrenderat20.net/2015/06/611-pbe-update.html

Will bump in the patch after the buffs go through once her nerfs get revealed.

Edit: I feel like people don't seem to understand that I'm saying Lux is going to be oppressive in lower levels of play, not OP. Due to her skill floor being lowered she's going to crush casuals by people playing the champ for the first time in mid lane.

you mean every elo?

Not really, as you become a better player in general Lux becomes easier to deal with.

And what about a Lux player becoming a better player to deal with being dealed with..?

If anyone even bothers to play lux for more then 1 game, then instapopping E becomes general instinct and is usually always done unless you are being chased

really is a change for less experienced lux's

maybe, but it's still faster non the less. Take the video for example. That user still had a delay between cast and detonate. Even if you had the fastest connection and reaction time, you can't achieve a quick draw of 0.000 seconds.

This might only be a split second change for pro players, but a split second would be all they need. I'd probably pick up lux after this.

I said in the OP "break mid lane in lower elo". Riot balances the game for both competitive and casual play (see: Darius) and Lux is the tryndamere of mid lane. Buffing her is going to make her even stronger at lower levels of play.

In any case the ability is already as hard enough to avoid as it is (hence the 130 mana cost), removing the one thing that makes it somewhat dodgeable for champions that don't have high base ms or mobility makes laning against her a huge pain.

If Riot really thinks Lux needs buffs (which I don't unless they're trying to make her competitively viable) there are better ways of going about it. I hate to use this word because it's often used as a copout for presenting an actual argument but it really is removing counterplay from her kit (dodge the skillshot dodge the damage).

Gonna be honest, really doubt it. E is usually VERY hard to dodge (if not impossible in some situations) against a competent Lux player, I don't think the E QoL buff will change much.

So what about all the incompetent Lux players that are gonna play the champ once these changes get released?

My point is that her skill floor is being dropped, with those changes anyone is gonna have an easy time landing Es. And guess what population of league is the largest and complains the most? Yeah it's the guys and Silver and Bronze, and I don't blame them. The E change is gonna ruin mid lane for people playing casually and Lux is gonna get nerfed for it.

I mean, to be perfectly honest theres nothing really hard about landing Lux's E (I've done it with a nearly 100% success rate and I rarely even play her, hell I don't even own Lux*)

Its pretty much the same as landing any other AoE skillshot, except somewhat easier, you place E on top of your opponent (or slightly behind them) and around 95% of the time, unless they burn a dash; they won't escape the explosion radius in time due to the AoE slow.

My cat could land Lux's E.

*I play her sometimes in limited time gamemodes.

Her Q is already shorter range than her E or is it the same range I can't remember. She will be just fine. It's not like its a damage or ap ratio buff.
