Lux should be harder to use
I do not support low risks, high rewards type of champions. With the easy poke of enormous skillshots, easy farming with her ultimate's joke of a CD and mana cost, shield to negate poke, and a passive that contributes to ensure a kill, I do believe she needs to be higher risk. I'm not gonna say to nerf her damage, cause she is a mage and they require to do burst damage.
However, my main problem is her E. Lucent Singularity.
This ability of hers is what makes her an easy skillshot champion, having a range of 350 in AoE and covering 1100 in its travel, it is an enormous skillshot that most people wouldn't have trouble at all landing unless they're against mobile champions like Fizz, Zed, Katarina, etc. Rest of the immobile champions are left to suffer and have to rely on predicting where the AoE is going to land, and even then, it will still likely hit in early games due to its massive range and the low movement speed people start off with. An average skilled Lux would most likely know that if their E manages to land where the opponent is right near the epicenter, it will likely manage to hit (especially with its slow.)
An addition to slow, it also provides the utility of sight and with the OP weapon
, the damage that is delivered from an easy to land skillshot with two major utilities makes it threatening.
And it's not like it just dies off once it fires. The fact it can linger for 5 seconds not only makes it harder to farm if you risk the chance of getting a minion ( if you're melee) or if you try to go around it, you risk getting hit by her Q followed with her passive, taking a good portion of your health in early game as a mage.
With its CD being 10 and with items such as
it makes not only the CD incredibly short, but also efficient since the mana cost is easily replenished with such an item.
The only nerf that I would want in this skillshot is the range of its AoE. It's the range that makes Lux have way too much of an easy time to land a skillshot vs other mages, especially when items are included into the equation. And not many mages are going to risk getting banshee or cleanse just to deal with one champion and sacrifice potential damage.
I say the range of Lux's E should be reduced to 300. Makes it more manageable for other mages to get away from her E without being right on the edge of it due to low movement speed in early game, and the rest of the E's benefits are still there.
It would weaken Lux's early game potential, but still have her strong in mid-late game. I would also make another argument about her ultimate, but there's a already a lot of those arguments out there. Biggest problem I'd have with her ultimate is the CD.
Let me know what you think.
