I feel like people are over exaggerating the games damage a bit.

Currently, yes, fighters, assassins, and to a lesser (but still existent) extent mages and marksman. Are doing a lot of damage right now, TO EACHOTHER.

While tanks arent being played quite as much, i think that they are still tanky enough, and dont do hardly as much as they did during the start of the season or the "team-oriented meta," same with supports.

I feel like riot needs to hit a couple of correct nails in the right spots (item 3095 item 3134 RUNES) and damage would be more okay.

Because IE deals true damage, Conqueror deals true damage, we literally have a true damage steroid in every game. Seen a Guinsoo yi? He tanks, and shreads tanks. Crit dark harvest yi? 1 shot. Assassins are starting to feel redundant in this damage steroid meta. Why play a champion with a bunch of tied in condition for a 1-shot, even when fed?

Talon got a huge chunk of his damage now tied to his auto attack reliant passive. Zed needs a couple seconds to kill, which can be negated with shields/zhonyas. Dark harvest Yi 1Q AA for a kill (granted, you won't be pulling this in high ELO, but atm, I'm doing some normal games with DH yi. Alpha - kill - Alpha - kill. There is no counter unless you zhonya or build at least 2 tank items - not feasible on lots of champs). Then there's stormrazor wukong, successor to lethality wukong. Leesin is also a no-counter assassin, if he meets his damage threshold, due to Q R Q E stun lock, and high base scaling. Riot succeeded in giving assassin more counterplay, then introduced so much damage into the game, that turns any burst bruiser into an assassin. These may help introduce more kills into higher plays (which I suspect is Riot's goal, to make championships more interesting with high risk high reward plays), but it turns lower elo into an absolute mess.

I honestly hate the whole true damage hate thats going on right now. I understand adding conqueror and IE back to back feels pretty bad, but all it is, is a different kind of pen. Only instead of scaling off enemy armor, it scales off your AD. Which compared to old IE, is WAYYYY better for everyone than old IE. And I miss old IE.

Isn't the reason why tanks are not being played enough, because they get shredded hard. I still remember playing Rammus a while back had just shy of 900 armor with my W up and still died within 3 seconds to the adc. My W was 6 seconds long I died before it ended.

that was prob before 8.11 though. And it isnt so much they get shredded mid-late, they can survive plenty fine then. They just typically cant survive fighters early rn. even then though Sion is still huge from what ive seen.

I played rammus recently, and it didn't matter how much armor I stacked, I was still gunned down, and there was so much sustain that the adc wasn't even taking any damage, and that is the point of Rammus kit.....

Mr tanks are fine. Armor tanks are worthless. There’s so much pen and true damage they can’t soak any damage

It's easy not to see changes when you aren't taking notice. I suggest you finding some vid of S3-4 game and compare damage to what we have now. You will be surprised ;)

I started in season 4 and have watched a fair amount of season 2 gameplay, under a week ago. Hell yes damage is higher. But i said "no not everything is 'damage is super high nerf all damage by 10-20%'" which i find an overexaggeration. I plain stated that damage is high on everything but tanks/supports?

You'll notice back then. Fed assassins still kill people in under 1 second, and assassins that are at equal standing of you can take 80% of your hp with a full combo, some even 100% after burning their full combo(usually the AD ones). You'll notice that tanks deal less damage overall as they primarily focused on having high base damage shitty scaling, but the philosophy changed to have %HP scaling or resistance scaling so tanks can actually deal with each other rather than being a boring wet noodle farm fest top. You'll notice that support items were limited to buying aura items which does not help any supports that want to go aggressive or tanky, they'd have to dip to other classes items if they really wanted to be tanky or deal damage. You'll notice that ADCs never went a full damage build making them slightly harder to blow up, but also dealt slightly less damage. You'll notice the philosophy of how the game is played back then was to get as high as farm as possible, even if it meant letting the turret live to 15 min, and tower dives were very not well played at all.

I remember that quite differently. Obviously some of them were kinda stupid-strong back then, but as a whole, they still did alot less than current assassins.

Overall damage was alot lower too. It was simply better times for LOL imo.

There has been increases in damage, primarily coming from the introduction of keystones. You can simply remove those and most of the damage issues have been fixed, but there will still be some perceived increase in damage some way or another because players have gotten better, but simply I think having the keystones are better than not having them because as a fill main, I find them helping lower tier champions more than higher tier ones, it's like having another flash, but something that actually synergies with a champion's kit.

We have new items that provide more damage like ludens though that's a S4 item if not S5, and duskblade, but before, we had higher AP overall, and we had BotRK that had 15% max hp a magic damage active, which while only Zed would build that for extra burst, the other AD assassin, Talon still bursted faster without it compared to even today's talon.
