You were on the lower gain side (blue), and entering a new division will reduce your gains. Together that seems about right. See how much you can win from the purple side.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that in diamond and above you simply get less lp for a win and lose more for a loss.

Does LP really matter? If you keep winning, your MMR will rise and you'll get matched with and against similar opponents. LP also always lags behind and hides your true MMR.
