Just stupid revamped MASTERIES.
You wiped out our runes, took the masteries and stripped them down, added a few different ones for good measure, slapped some completely useless ones in, destroyed the customization and then BAM, theres your masteries for you.
Please call them what they are, Riot. Because they aren't runes.
redniwediS5 votesThere was an overlap of terms, with "mastery" referring to mastering a champion, acquiring a mastery rank with a champion, and mastery pages. They trimmed it down a bit by calling the new system runes.

It's their game, can call them whatever they want. You could always develop a game and make up your own names too.

MysticDreams121 votesMost, but me I didn't. I customized for each different main I had, and for different match ups. I still kicked butt and climbed in rank. Not everyone used the main set.
