Why does Annie do so much damage?

I just took 900 damage from one Q when Annie and I were both level 11 (was playing Kha'Zix). She has like 200 ap and no magic pen built.

Like, ow.

I'm wagering you either took less than that or were hit by her W as well, which basically has no cast time and is functionally undodgeable.

Or he was looking at Death Recap, and it calculated multiple Qs.

Or Death Recap was inconsistent. Again.

It's literally impossible that you took that much damage from just Q. Even with a max rank Q+W at 200 AP, you still shouldn't have taken 900 damage.

Annie's Q would need 850 AP to do 900 damage. Assuming no magic resistance on the target.

yea you kids can do all the calculations you want but the game dosnt explain or can account for half the damage that kills you. or you having 150 ad, and do 91s vs the 24 armour target, but hey calculations mean everything

Literally in death recap Incinerate - 864 damage. So almost 900 damage. Although it was her W and not Q, so that was my bad.

Important to note, Death recap groups together damages (its also buggy as hell on occasion) so if you were hit by the same spell multiple times in a short amount of time, it will just group all the damage from that spell together; e.g: 3 hits of 300 on the same spell, would be shown as 900 on the death recap.

No, calculations don't mean everything; they do however show us things that are quite literally, impossible.

Assuming you were looking at death recap, if the same spell damages you multiple times it will group the damage together. It is less likely that you took a single Q from Annie for 900 damage, and more likely that it hit you multiple times due to it's low cooldown.

At rank 5 and 200 AP, Annie's Q should deal 220 + 160 = 380 damage before mitigation. Assuming you had around 35MR, it should take about 3 Qs to deal 900 damage.

Alternatively, death recap has always been notoriously buggy. It's quite possible it just grouped damage dealt by other champions or other spells in with Annie's Q on the recap, even though it didn't belong to that ability.

i suppose it couldve been multiple hits but I definitely took like 800ish damage at once, although that could've been her q and w at the exact same time
