Can players whose ranks out weight significantly the rest of the team be matched against each other?

Say the game is at a silver 5 level. But each team has a duo who has brought in a Gold 3 player. If the two gold members face other opponents than each other, then they tend to dominate their respective lanes (especially if MID or TOP). But this causes an issue if one of them is either ADC or SUP since then it is 2v2 and might not be as easy to dominate if the other (either adc or support that isn't the gold 3 player) isn't very good.

I don't really see the difference in skill between silver 5 and gold 3 players. Both are prone to making mistakes. The only thing I notice is the Gold player may be a little more aggressive than the silver, which may or may not be a good thing for the gold player.

I've seen games where it was a night and day difference is tallent. But ultimately it still could come down to champion proficiency. A skilled silver can beat a gold who is trying a new champion or role. But most of the time the gold player has the higher skill level on with their champion than the silver, so that possibility isn't as valid.

This should happen. In order to have an accurate ladder system, lanes must be matched.
