Riot's Balance Philosophy
It follows a series of simple steps:
>notice a large portion of the community is complaining about a Champion
>identify what about that Champion the community is upset about
>address literally any part of their kit except the problem
>community complaints increase because they blatantly dodged the issue
>pick one of the following: 1)Actually address the issue, but leave the other nerfs too, leaving them in crap-tier
; 2) complaints increased? better undo the nerf and leave them the way they were when complaints started; 3) Eh, job's done.
People hate
's oppressive 3.25 second snare with high damage, and a huge and misleading hitbox, as well as her ability to render anyone on her team immune to cc for several seconds? Better slightly lower the base damage of Tormented Soil, oh and we'll buff the snare.
People hate that
has an infinitely stacking multi-target execute with next to no cost and refreshes on kill, allowing her to demolish teamfights and granting an incontestible 4k damage smite on epic monsters? Better turn her autos into skillshots that deal 10% less damage.
People hate literally every part of
's new kit because the entire thing was just a horrible idea and there's next to no way to play against it? Better reduce her base armor by 3, that'll fix it.
People have hated
for three entire seasons because he literally defines jungle strength no matter how much the meta changes and people are sick of seeing him in every single game? Better buff him. Not playing favorites, nope.
