There should be a spell vamp item geared toward AD.

Right now if you want spellvamp you either buy a full AP Item or an item that is not only expensive but the 80 AP will often go to waste .

I think it would be really neat to have an AD Spell vamp item, somewhere along the lines of revolver minus lifesteal and the AP, maybe with slightly more AD and a lower cost. I already find it fun to build spell vamp on some champs like just because they have a lot of AoE in their kit. The only major problem I could see is maybe Riven since she would be given tons of damage and sustain.

Riot specifically stated they won't make an AD spell-vamp item because it'd make AD caster assassins broken.

The problem actually isn't assassins. It's bruisers. Riot actually tried making an AD spell vamp item on the Twisted Treeline to help out assassins (the initial form of Lord Van Damm's Pillager). The result was that assassins (and most other classes) got completely destroyed by bruisers, who could take their good ability damage and strong defenses to just become sustain nightmares. Once they completed the Pillager, they were just unstoppable because they couldn't be bursted and they had the sustain to mitigate enemy dps. The only assassins that really benefited were ones like Riven.
