Voice chat just isn't something I want in this game

I don't want to talk to strangers...

I don't want to use voice chat in league but I feel like if Riot adds it in, there will almost be an obligation to use it because your asshole teammates don't care about your privacy and want you to speak to 4 other strangers off the internet. ;_;

I almost broke into a tangent there but i'm just saying that voice chat in game doesn't make the experience all that more fun for the players and I hope it doesn't find it's way into my game.

This is true, but many players feel that by not using it and having it offered, it is a huge disadvantage.

While I agree with you, I understand that a lot of people would want to use it, but have anxiety problems surrounding the notion.

Don't know how many times you have to remind people you're not in voice chat, that they get it. I've been stuck as that 1 random in a team of 4 pre-made, with the 4 being in a voice chat and them refusing to communicate with me because I refused to join in.

The only way to have it be a true opt-in experience is by tying it to a specific queue type. Example: Ranked Flex has automatic Voice Chat. Ranked Solo/Duo does not.

lol or in ranked soloQ have a little button somewhere on the scoreboard for example that is a join/leave chat button. AKA "Opt in experience" and you;d be able to opt out if people started getting toxic

Hopefully, it will be like Xbox live, where 95% of the players don't use it, 4% will be those squeakers that cause ear damage that compares to a jet engine, and the remaining one percent will be hillbillies who swear as much as Trevor Phillips. No big deal.

you don't have to talk. most games with voice chat have a press a key to talk kind of thing and even a way to mute others who talk

Riot could just solve the problem very easily by simply endorsing a voice program. They would only have to do minor work, and it wouldn't change much from the current style. Maybe auto form discord chat channels for each team when champ select hits so they just have to click a link.

I mean, sure, there is a benefit to exact communication but I feel like that toxicity is an issue no one wants to be bothered with. Dealing with it in chat is bad enough but verbally hearing these comments is worse.

The worst part is, even if you were to mute them, those same toxic players can still give relevant and useful info. Champ has ult up, 3 enemies are here, ward Baron and more. So you have a loss loss situation.

Basically, you are either lucky to have good teammates or you have friends, otherwise chats will likely go down a toxic road.

It's not all about you, and perhaps this will allow you to finally come out of your shell. EVERYBODY wants this aside from autistic neckbeard redditors that are afraid of having to interact with someone in a 10% human way. This will make the game so much fucking better and coming from a toxic person league person, I am 99% sure it will reduce toxicity. Literally every team game on the internet has voice chat so get with the times
