the XP debacle in the jungle is the worst thing I've seen the entire life of this game

RankOneUganda··13 votes·722 views

am watching a no smite jungler hit level by level and stay even with our jungler that has smite. few weeks ago with no smite you'd be 3 -4 levels down by 10 min. this is just unbelievable. there is no point to farm jungle anymore. you will not gain much of an xp lead. this is absolutely ridiculous

I literally just finished a game where the enemy jungler HAD NO SMITE. had the same farm as our jungler. was an entire fucking level ahead. no he did not go to lane to tax.

this is by far the most fucking ridiculous thing I have ever seen. not just this game. go ahead try to jungle. you will get SO MUCH XP if your behind. YOU GET NEXT TO NO XP if your ahead

this isn't about champion balance. this isn't bout being op or not. the jungle is so fucked in so many ways that I cannot believe there is no outrage about this. if your behind you shouldn't just be ahead because you cleared 2 camps while the enemy 2 minutes ago was 10 camps ahead of you. this is how bullshit this is

you reach a point where a single clear if your behind gives you 2-3 times the xp the enemy gets while they are ahead on levels.

You got a link to this match youre talking about? iirc you do in fact need to get the bonus XP from a jungle item to get bonus XP.

no you don't need the jungle item to get the bonus xp.

Are you sure? Because that game i posted i was four levels down at one point and didnt get bonus XP from my camps.

because chogath himself was behind. look at his levels and farm.

... No when i say "four levels behind" i mean I was four levels behind him. WHen he was level 7 i was level 3 with a third his farm.

Then i started ganking and leveled pretty rapidly.

You are comparing someone that was 5-2-11 to someone that was 0-4-2. You get exp from kills/assists. If he wasn't successful with his ganks he would have been ridiculously far behind.

Cho didnt actually gank is the thing. He kind of farmed a lot and had some failed botlane ganks. Meanwhile i, the shyvana with an annoying cat who made me forget smite, was behind for a LONG time until i started ganking and grouping. I spent more time in lanes post tiamat than my jungle, only going after easy camps like raptors and dogs. I also had total scuttle control.

The cho didn't farm much either. Was 52 jungle farm on the cho vs 42 jungle farm on the shyvana. So since the cho didn't farm or gank he fell really far behind. The shyvana was also behind based on the time. At 19:40 a jungler should be level 12. So the shyvana was 2 levels behind and the cho was 3 levels behind.

I had actually cleared 2~3 full waves before the game ended. So i had even less jungle farm.

Yea but this game shows why the jungle item IS important. You were only level 10 when you should have been level 12 if you were having an average game. The cho was just really far behind from being 0-4-2 and doing pretty much nothing all game. It looks like he was invaded early on by the yasuo and then just gave up. By 20 minutes a jungler should be level 12. Being 5-2-11 means it would be possible to be about level 14 and far ahead. So without the jungle item the shyvana was about 4 levels behind where they should have been, this is significant.

5-2-11 vs 0-4-2 and only being a level up shows that the jungle item is important.

Actually he tried to invade the smiteless shyv and fed first blood. He then helped me get red and i stalled until i could get both scuttles.

However, at one point i was grossly behind, which is my entire point; i dont think that bonus XP from jungle camps is granted unless you have smite, because if it was a single bird camp would have leveled me and it never did; i always got roughly similar amounts of XP and it wasnt until i started dealing with lanes that i got catch up XP from minions and champs.

actually you get exp from things dying in proximity

even if you don't get a kill or an assist, if an enemy executes themselves under tower near you, you will get a bunch of exp for it.

This is possibly the most bronzy rant I've ever seen. It doesn't appear that you are telling a true story. While it's true that catch up xp is out of hand, you're making a lot of these things up.

Taking a look at your match here: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2578042159/43878932?tab=overview

Shyvana (enemy jungler) was behind Cho'gath (your jungler) the first 7½ minutes, but then manages to solo kill Cho'gath, and gets a lead on him this way. Not to mention her end game score is 5/2/11 while Cho'gath's is 0/4/2. Looking further at this it also appears Cho'gath was invaded, as he died to Yasuo at 1:45.

Shyvana didn't get ahead because of catch up xp, she got ahead because she didn't get put behind through gameplay like Cho'gath was. Despite the invade it shows that Cho'gath was on part, if not ahead, of Shyvana.

if your ahead wolf camp gives you 1/5th of a level. if your behind it gives you almost an entire level.

Honestly, I've hated this last iteration of the reworked jungle so I just don't do it anymore. In cases that i end up getting jungle, i just accept that i'll probably lose, because I know I'm going to fall behind in XP because i'm not playing an early game ganking bot that will just keep up with farm and get ahead in XP by ganking 3 times by 5 minutes, while I've ganked once and been farming.
